Full Version: Odd coincidence?

As an avid observer of women, I've noticed a rather odd coincidence invovling their choice of clothing.

It seems, that there are 'color' days, like today, for example. I've seen about a dozen women, of various ages, sizes, and ethinic groups who are all wearing green tops with either black or beige pants or skirts.

Yesterday, was apparantly, blue day. Is there some sort of 'womanswear.net' that you ladies check before you get dressed? Or is it just a wierd case of synchronicity? Or is it that dreaded "Sisterhood" that is really behind it all?

Clueless males want to know.

I don't think synchronicity has anything to do with it. We tend to follow the latest fashion trends and bright colors are "in" right now. Also, black makes you look thinner. We take a lot into consideration when we choose our clothing (at least I do, anyway) We choose colors that look good on us. Myself, I wear blues and greens really well. For some, it could depend on their mood that day as well. A feeling "girly" day for me, means wearing pink or yellow. But mainly, we try to wear whatever is currently in fashion. That's just me and my opinion, for what it's worth. original.gif

Most of my women freinds wear black every day..! Well, most of them are of a gothic nature, so I think that really explains it..? huh.gif

But what is the point? Most ppl of the male gender(such as moi) wouldn't get the symbolism. Why not wear whats comfy?
_Nyx_
Because we're women and we're complicated.....nothing's ever simple with us. tongue.gif
I have days when it's just a wear whatever I grab first kind of day. And believe me, there are certain times during the month when "wear whatever's comfortable"
applies. original.gif

As Lila said it's probably just a fashion cycle. Only I find that woman do not actually have a lot of choice when it comes to fashion. What i mean is that the retail stores dictate what you will wear.

If you wish to wear blue and the fashion guru's say yellow is the new blue, you won't find a blue top any where. It's kind of like, wear the colours I tell you to, and like them damn it!

It's tough being good looking and fashionable. dontgetit.gif

What colours match what moods? huh.gif

To answer your question (at least as for myself), it's sort of like:

Bright colors in general = cheerful.
Dark colors in general = depressed.

More specifically, if the colors are bright:

Blue is tranquil.
Green is optimistic.
Yellow is warm and good humored.
Red is energetic.
Purple is happy.
White is confident.

If the colors are dark:

Blue is shy.
Green is passive.
Black is either reclusive or sophisticated, depending on what it is.
Red is angry or upset.
Purple is depressed.

That's just me, though. Others' mileage may vary. original.gif

"Where no man has gone before..."

I still think that it is part of a global network. I counted today, no less than 26 women wearing bright green tops. It is down right spooky it is.

there is only one rule to women's clothes:

"white looks good wet"

edit:
there is a second rule too (at least with the women i know):
never wear a piece of clothing more than once.

I notice gangs of girls all wearing the same colour, I find it rather sad.

I am usually in ripped jeans, I have so many pairs of them, and band t-shirts are over taking my closet.

You know what would be nice, a temporary tatoo for your wrist, so when your going to met women you can understand what's going on, they could have the color thing and a freindly reminder that women usually say the opposite of what they mean... I think so anyway
