On aim, I suggest you start a convo with an interesting line, not the boring 'Hey'.
And try to find out what kind of guys she's into and what interests her.....oh yea and be funny.

Hmm..but then he might make an attempt to change himself to her liking, that never is good.
I would try asking eachother questions, make a game out of it if you want, it's a good way to get to know her.

get her phone number and call her, and then from there you will make a more personal connction, and then after talking on the phone for a week or someting you can invite her out to the mall or someting with your friends, and hers, and then from there you can gradually show her your interested in her, and ask her out on a date

Go through her garbage and steal her mail; that should give you a good head start!
I was just joking..
Be sweet and yourself and the words will come. Its hard to get to know people sometimes. Be patient.

Being yourself is the only honest way to win a woman's affection. Pretending to be someone else will only lead to problems.
Mind you... given my luck over the years, I'm not exactly the best person to ask for advice. LOL

I think this topic would be best suited to a blog entry, unexplained mysteries is not an online dating help service.
