Well i have come into a bit of money, and have seen a financial advisor a few times but feeling a bit pushed to make a desision and not wanting to keep loseing interst he is drawing up paperwork for a "Guarenteed Stockmarket Linked Growth Bond" It lasts 5 years and guarentees i will receive 110% Of what i invest back min, so say i invest 10K i would get 11K Back Min, but he thinks he could make me 60% Now not being in the know about such things...... What do financial minded people think? The bank is HSBC and they will invest it in FTSE 100.... Just not realy sure if this is the best option i meen sure im guarenteed to make a profit...... but is there anything else (That will defo not lose me any money) to give me a better profit? Also i will be going to university and he says i will be able to get a grant, but to put it into an investment like this otherwise the interest will be considered income and i wont get any help with uni so will come out worse off? Thanks for your help

You realize that no one, no one, and I do mean NO ONE can guarantee a return on an investment, right?
Anybody who tells you they can, is out to steal your money.
Run, do not walk, away from this individual.

Its your money - tell them you don't want to do just shares and they can help you sort out what you want.
Also check out the other banks and what they have to offer...
You could invest in property if you don't want shares. Many people buy houses and sell them on a couple of months of a couple of years later, getting a profit.
You could start up your own business.
You could get an ISA.
And plus if you have all this stacks of money - why do you need a grant?!

Its him who keeps going on about grants not me

You don't need to do anything that the HSBC guy tells you.
If you have all this money, it's hardly fair that you get a grant.
I have zilch money, and because my parents aren't poor I don't get a grant - yep the system sucks.
Why don't you speak to an independent financial adviser, that way they won't be influenced by what the certain bank thinks will be the best for them.
Also like I said, speak to other banks to get a wide concensus of opinion, rather than this guy who you are clearly unhappy with.
Above all, remember it's your money, not HSBC's so you can do what you like with it, and don't be pressured into doing anything you don't want to. They are there to help you, so if you're not quite sure about what they are saying, stop them and ask them to explain it.
Hope my advice helps.

Hello!
IT'S YOUR MONEY!
If you don't understand what he's talking about tell him!
He sounds like a bit of a prat if you can't bear to "upset" him.
Can't you take someone else with you for moral support?

I was kidding, I'm just saying, don't do what you don't wanna.
If you don't want shares, don't have em. On the other hand, why not - you say you "gained" this money, so I say have a bit of fun with it.
