I thought id start this thread to see what kinds of rules all of you apply to yourselves in your everday lives, as well as learn some of you guys personal mottos and/or morals
ill start the thread off with my set of rules, there are only 3 but i try to follow them with no exception
1) Always prepare for and expect the absolute worse outcome of any situation, that way if it has to come down to it you will be ready and know what to say and/or do to make the situation right (or to save your ass), and then if the situation turns out well, its an even better added sense of releif and joy
2) Never trust anyone, no one. Its ok to have faith in believing someone to be truthfull, but dont ever trust them 100%, the moment you trust someone is the moment they can stab you in the back.
3) Never stoop to a level you cant climb back from, fairly self explanitory. its ok to be "wrong" or "evil" at times, but make sure the means justify the ends, and make sure it is not to just hurt someone, but only do this if you can bring your self back to your proper state, DO NOT get caught up in the easiness of that life style.
and finally my lifes motto, which goes hand in hand with my number 1 rule
"prepare for the worst, and hope for the best"
so what about you guys?

I never live for tomorrow, only today...
I wasn't always like that, until I cheated death

Crap happens!
Remember, when someone annoys you it takes 42 muscles in your face to frown BUT, it only takes 4 muscles to extend your arm and slap the motherbleeper upside the head... now there is some logic.

If I die today, I guess I don't have much say in it?

The ways of Moe
Be unlimited in all things groovy. Having one way will isolate and fragment your groove. Be whole, like a worm in an apple. If a plaque ridden tooth bites you in half, be one with duct tape.
Be wholesome, like the wind. If it jiggles your wind chime prematurely, bark and lament.
Be loved or hated. If ignored, continue speaking until insulted or maimed. Remember, indifference is death.

If a large man named Fred sits upon your hand, do not cry out in pain, instead , release a moan of pleasure. Smile, for you just made a new friend.

If you have a closer look, you will realize I haven't stated much opinion-wise.
PS.
"Dont ask the question if you dont want to hear the answer"
"Don't answer a question with an immediate, obvious answer."

My personal Rules:
1. If you're feeling good, feel good. If you're feeling bad, feel bad. If you're feeling angry, feel angry. Don't ever let someone tell you how to feel, just always make sure you're being you.
2. If you want to change something about yourself, change it, but do it only if you're the one who's unsatisfied.
3. Death is not a finish line to hurry up and get to, so don't do anything that might help you get there faster.
4. Everything from your nail polish to your career to your personality and attitude is 100% your choice, blame cannot be put on anyone else but yourself for your mistakes. Make the best choices and be happy with them, otherwise you will have regrets when you die, whether you're 9 or 90.

1 - Do the right thing because it is the right thing to do. Not for the reward or punishment that doing the right thing can bring.
2 - Be honest with everyone. Most especially, yourself.
3 - Work hard, play harder.
4 - Be lucky enough to have a few people in your life that would be willing to die for you. Be ready to die that they will live.
5- Before getting married to that "special someone", make sure that he/she is also your best friend. It worked for me.
My motto?
"Who Dares, Wins"

Three motto's I live by:
"Kloshe Nanitch"- Sushwap Indian for "Ever Watchful". It's the motto of my Regiment. As a soldier, it reminds me to be ever watchful for threats to my country.
"Servire Armatis"- Latin for "Serve the Army". It's the motto of my former trade in the military. It reminds me that all I do in my job is for the betterment of the Canadian Forces, and the soldiers I support.
"Servitium Nulli Secondus"- Latin for "Service Second to None". It's the motto of my current trade in the military. It reminds me to uphold the highest standards in my work.
I have others, and may post them later. For now this will do to explain my philosophy and work ethic in my job.

I live by rules? Oh yeah, I guess I do. Well.... um.... never.... no, always have new strings on my guitar. Errr.... kick the Shyt out of any dude who gets in my face. And..... ahhh... never blow chunks on my date, no matter how drunk we both get.
Edit: Another good rule of thumb is to never post when I'm too tired to read people's signatures correctly.

I'm really tired now (over 2:30 AM here, how do I do it is beyond me

), so I'll write only two:
1) Even in the darkest time, there's a light.
2) When you're tired and think you can't take it anymore (refering to studies and tests and stuff)... push it harder.

Here goes:
1. Fake it untill you make it.
2. Never pour your heart out unless you want it thrown in your face.
3. You are responsible for your own feelings.
4. There are no excuses, apologies, or repentance, only responsibility. ( That's as spiritual as it gets.)
