Just to give you an idea of where I live.
I live in a town called Twin Rivers. A mostly peaceful town where hardly anything criminal happens. This town is seperated into 2 parts, and the only way to get to each side is to either walk through the tunnel or walk across the high-way.
Date: Yesterday
Time: 7:30 P.M.
I had just left the house and was getting ready to go to the library, which is, unfortunatly, on the other side of Twin Rivers. I was close to the tunnel now, maybe 30 feets away, and I see 3 black men walk out of the tunnel. This wouldn't have been odd, but I noticed they were staring at me, and just then I noticed a car parked in the parking lot above the tunnel, with 2 other people looking at me. I look away from the car and hear a bike come right next to me. I looked over and see another black guy, on the bike, staring at me. So at this point I'm thinking Hmm..This is very odd.. I'm about 20 feet away now and I notice the man on the bike look back at me before he disappears into the tunnel.
[A few minutes later]
I'm almost at the end of the tunnel when I see the guy on the bike ride out from behind a corner and tries to ram me with his bike. I jump out of the way, he hits the wall, and then wheels around again to block my path.
"Give me your wallet, man"
" Yea, no"
And so, I stepped over his tire and continue to walk, but once again, he wheels around in front of me, but this time he pulled out a knife. I was now completely surprised, and my mind started racing, thinking what would be the best thing to do now. So I figured it wasn't worth the risk of getting stabbed, and gave him my wallet.
He took my wallet, and we both left the tunnel as if nothing happened.
With no money and no desire to go back home, I went to my friends house. I told them all what happened, we went to the tunnel to check things out, and that was pretty much that.
It was now 11:00.
I had just got home and I told my parents exactly what happened. My dad called the police (after telling me how I should have called the police right after it happened) and we wound up going to the police station. I told the police my story, and it turns out they caught the guy who did the mugging. So hopefully I'll get my wallet back soon, it had a whole ten dollars in it, and that is a terrible loss indeed.
Just to explain why I mentioned the other men who seemingly had nothing to do with the story; recently there has been graffeti everywhere saying "AG", so we all assume it is a gang. At the time I figured they were all together, and I still think they were.
So, in conclusion, if a bunch of people are staring at you with an evil glare right before you go in to a dark tunnel, just do yourself a favor and don't go in.
