What a random topic.

I voted! original.gif

A fork. Because even with soup you could always drink from the bowl. With meat you can bite off the pieces while holding it in your hands.

But the best thing for survival is the Mess Kit.

I voted for 'chopsticks.' If you had said the easiest or most useful eating utenisl, I would have voted differently. Chopsticks are "The Ultimate."
Scorpio_71
i cant believe i got suckered into voting for this.

my answer, who gives a damn.

i feel ashamed, humiliated and now i need to go ask forgiveness to my silver..... ahh, high polished aluminum. ok, fine, plastic ware!!!
justcallmefox
they're all equally good, and it really doesn't matter which one is best, as they all get the job done. i voted 'who gives a damn'.

and BTW, it's spelled utensil.

I like the spork. happy.gif

Swiss army knife... Umm... I think you are thinking about a different version. Cause I have a swiss army knife and I have a multi-tool for camping that has a spoon, fork, knife and other things on it.
distortedpandy
I went with the spork...

I love sporks laugh.gif

The chopsticks for sure - they are THE ULTIMATE eating utensil.

The spork comes a close second...........

It has to be the almighty pencil! It must be the pencil! All hail the pencil, superior eating utensil, especially for chicken!

laugh.gif Won't you get some kind of poisonig? tongue.gif I voted chopsticks, because I am part Chinese, and I find them easier to eat stuff with. I just hate the fact that the teeny boppers are starting to use them disgust.gif mad.gif Oh, and my plastic ones can double for weapons if someone ticks me off grin2.gif

Hey TD - I didn't know you were part Chinese.

I'm not part Chinese, but I may as well be - I'm better with chopsticks than I am knife and fork believe it or not tongue.gif

You know, I've always had this sneaking suspicion you were either Chinese or Japanese. No idea why, but I did. Glad to have it confirmed.

But there's one utensil that didn't make it to this poll. The spoon/knife combo. Don't know what they're called, but I remember getting them from KFC. Anyway, sporks are the best, personally.

TaintedDoughnuts
Yeah, I'm about 1/3 Chinese, the rest is a bunch of other things tongue.gif That's why I love my chopsticks...

A spoon and knife combo? Never heard of it, but sounds interesting. I will search for it! original.gif

Spork Love by Heather Martin
http://www.backpackgeartest.org/reviews/Co...ather%20Martin/

Mine has gone with me everywhere and fed me everything for nearly five years, and the only sign of wear is that the matte finish on the convex side has been polished to near-mirror smoothness!

Sadly, in conversation, the words "I have a Titanium Spork" don't seem to inspire the kind of awe that you'd imagine they would.

I'm surprised at how many people so lack playfulness and imagination, and voted "Who gives a damn?"
One would think that, with the kinds of things discussed on this board, most would be able to drop their inhibitions, and have some fun with a harmless bit of silliness such as this.

this topic reminded me that I have dishes to do...

My choice is not up there... my good old Canadian Forces Issued KFS (Knife Fork Spoon) set. It's compact, goes anywhere, and is easy to clean.

To be honest, I use all utensils equally... as they should be...

Why must people discriminate against them? Isn't a fork or spoon as effective at cutting (given the skill) as a knife. Isn't a knife as good for picking up a piece of meat as a fork or a spoon?

I demand equal treatment of all utensils! If we fail to treat them as equals they will rise up and rebel against us!
