I know people don't like Bush.. and that is their right... but this is ridiculous!... I didn't like Clinton... and would not have liked Kerry as president... but would never threaten to Kill anybody!!!!.... I hope he fries!!!

The Secret Service has its eye on a Kentucky student.

Twenty-one-year-old Phillip Bailey is being investigated for suggesting President Bush be shot.

Bailey is chairman of the University of Louisville Student Non-violent Coordinating Committee.

He says he posted a message on a Web site in response to someone else who suggested that looters in New Orleans should be shot. Bailey wrote that many people were simply trying to find necessities to stay alive. His posting called for shooting "every cop, national guard and politician who stands in your way, including George W. Bush if need be."

The Secret Service says it'll be up to the U.S. attorney's office to decide if Bailey is charged with making threats against the president. That offense can carry a five-year prison term.

Well, good ... death threats are no joke, he should learn to keep is fingers quite...should be looking for porn instead of sending stupid emails, now he will probably have his all life screwed. His own fault.

I think there is a difference between talking crap and actually doing something. I dont think the guy deserves prison time for just talk unless he had plans and such to act on it or asking others to do so. It would waist prison space for someone who may deserve it more for a far more serious crime than talking crap. Though that story makes you wonder how often these forums are checked out by the feds.

I've posted bush to be killed many times, even on U.M. Is this because this site is on a U.K. based server? threats are what they are just talk. Unless the secrete service no more about this kid then what there telling us.

Threats against anyone, whether Violent or Non-violent shouldn't be tolerated!!

He didn't threaten anyone, he just expressed his disatisfaction with the President in a strong way. Yeah, I suppose the secret service or whatever should check him out a bit to see if he has a secret stockpile of missiles or something.

BUT.... since when in America could you get arrested for speaking your mind? 1984. The Thought Police.

I guess freedom of speech isn't allowed in America... rolleyes.gif

True but then again how many of us haven;t said god i wish he was dead.
And especially to Bush.
Sometimes people take things to literally.
This isn;t one of those times.

Yes because that's entirely purposeful.. blink.gif
No good can come from that.

I can't help but laugh at the double standard in this country.

Here a kid states that the looters should shoot anyone who stood in their way of getting food and water, including the president. Now however morally distasteful that may be, it was an opinion expressed to counter another opinion that starving people needed to be shot. (Isn't that the same threat)

But when a well known public Televangilist(sp?) Says that we should assassinate the president of another country, and even goes on to say we have the ways and means to do it..........

Does anyone other than my feeble brain see the political biased, double standard?

Just curious...
Super Pancake
Christians rhetoric own this country, they don't care about contradictions or double standards.

You see originally it was supposed to written, "we have the freedom of Peach"
meaning we could freely grow peachs on our property.
However, uppon seeing the typo congress decide that "The Freedom of Speech" sounded much more official, so they kept. So ultimaely we only have the right to grow peaches and to talk about him...perhaps if we sent Bush some peaches...
