So what of the witch and the big nose??? Is it supposed to portray ugliness or something else? There is more iron in the nose... Iron conducts electricity very well... The nose is hooked up to nerves... The nerves focus on electricity... The nerves are sensed by certain parts of the brain.... Is the configurement of the human body description on how the body senses stimuli?

I think the ugly witch is probably to portray Wiccan faith as a ugly and evil belief. I don't know I'm just guessing really.

Green face, a big nose with wort on it is meant so show witches as evil. Remember Glenda was the good witch of the north in OZ and she was beautiful.

Thats what i always figured,It was a way to frighten children so they wouldn,t go dabbling in stuff that their good christian parents didn,t want them to know about! Unfortunatly it has made them so affraid and caused them to be so prejudiced that the christians were the ones to behave like evil monsters commting unspeakable crimes against innocent law abiding people! As a Christian myself i,m often ashamed of the crimes commted in the name of God!

But christian parents proably didnt want their good *cough cough* kids going into stuff like swtp said. so they made up roumours? to tell their younger kids so they would grow afraid of it.

Its kind of like when they say Satan is red ,and has a pitch fork, horns, and a nice goatee .... its all made up imagery.

Witches = big noses = bad.
Therefore big noses = bad.
Jews = big noses, therefore Jews = bad.

I actually read that somewhere. It's all about witchcraft being evil, and how what you do and what you are on the inside, effects how you look on the outside.
