I recently purchased an internal card reader from a local computer fair which I lost the instructions for. I can't for the love of god work out how to put the bloody thing into my motherboard. It says its USB 2.0 compatable, but it doesnt plug into a usb, it has a little socket which I assume goes into the motherboard with VCC, USB1-, USB1+, GND written on it. If possible, can someone please tell me how to install the card reader please.

it needs to plug into an empty internal usb plug on the motherboard. You may or may not have one of those available. Check your motherboard manual. I have seen adapters that would convert the internal plug to an external plug but they are rare and then you would have to thread the cable through a hole and outside your case.

This might help, the plug will look just like the one in the pic. As Frenat said you'll have to have a free one on your motherboard.

That is a good guide and very helpful but i would still recommend checking out your motherboard manual. Especially depending on the age of your machine. Lately the plugs on the board have been standardized but Some older boards had pins switched around. Plugging it in wrong could short the port, or at the very worst and least likely, short the board. Trust me, I know from experience. I lost my USB ports on an older computer specifically because the pins were not standard.
