Full Version: The AntiChrist on Earth......

Hi all, I found this while searching the net. I know it's a few months old, but I haven't seen it posted on here before. A preacher from a Church group called "Growing in Grace" is claiming to be Jesus reincarnated and also publicly claiming he is the anti-Christ......

MIAMI, Florida (CNN) -- The minister has the number 666 tattooed on his arm.

But Jose Luis de Jesus Miranda is not your typical minister. De Jesus, or "Daddy" as his thousands of followers call him, does not merely pray to God: He says he is God.

"The spirit that is in me is the same spirit that was in Jesus of Nazareth," de Jesus says.

De Jesus' claims of divinity have angered Christian leaders, who say he is a fake. Religious experts say he may be something much more dangerous, a cult leader who really believes he is God........

It's interesting that these followers have actually gone as far as picketing churches and protesting there, and claiming that the Anti-Christ spoken of in the Bible is really a misunderstood figure, putting his own spin on it - "Antichrist is the best person in the world," he says. "Antichrist means don't put your eyes on Jesus because Jesus of Nazareth wasn't a Christian. Antichrist means do not put your eyes on Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Put it on Jesus after the cross." And de Jesus says that means him.

I wonder if this really is another David Koresh in the making. I hope not, but time will tell.

Just thought I'd share this with you thumbsup.gif

Interesting article!!!

It always surprises me how many people claim to be "The Holy One" - then they get their followers.

These Cults can be so very dangerous as cases in the past have shown. The leaders of the Cults are extremely powerful with an abundance of charisma - they would have to be otherwise not a soul would take any notice of them.

I cannot believe people have had that number tattooed on their skin, bearing in mind it would take laser treatment to get rid of it, it is hard to imagine what will go through their minds should they change their views about this person!

Does it not say something in the Bible about "Many will come in my name...." - indicating that there will be many false prophets?

This Jose person strikes me as one such person, I'll guess we will have to wait and see what happens sad.gif

Yea so now he wants people to believe that the anti christ is Jesus when he returns...aaaaaaaaaaaahhh okaaaayy if you insist...hold on till I dose myself up with drugs and alcohol and maybe if I read it again..i'll take heed LOL laugh.gif yea sure I will!!

I have seen an article about this dude on TV. A real nut job, this one....else he's happily bilking people for fame and notoriety. They say beware of the wolf in sheep's clothing .... his following don't act like no sheep LOL That doesn't mean anything, though - just beware of the wolf! LOL
The Puzzler
Anyone who thinks they are Jesus Christ or God and starts preaching it are seriously deranged and need help. Charles Manson, David Koresh and Jim Jones are but a few to claim to be Jesus.

Oh ya! Too much religeon, not enough God given commen sense! no.gif
Even Jesus warned us about religeous fanatics, He said they were dangerous and more concerned about their own man made laws,Which will blinde the world and prevent them from walking in true faith and loving your neighbor as yourself!

Interesting article, PA.

Even more interesting is the reaction from people regarding this self-proclaimed saviour. Who's to say he's not the real deal? Why do you believe in the original Jesus simply because he was written of in a book? Were people in ancient Judea saying the same about the original Jesus as some are saying of De Jesus today?

How fascinating the reaction of believers to someone who challenges their belief...
Shankpin
He couldn't be the "real deal" because Jesus said he would never return here on earth, but he will return from the sky. Every eye shall see him... Jesus warns us of this type of thing.... he even said if anyone says that Jesus been spotted somewhere do not go and see, they are false prophets that come in his name to do wonders...

Interesting perspective, Sunni. So why was Jesus not simply another false prophet of his time? Is it simply because your belief tells you he wasn't?

It's not just my perspective- Jesus's coming was prophesied. He was a great teacher, and performed miracles, walked in spiritual awareness, shown all gift of the spirit. God allowed him to do this, in order to show the world who he was- He was crucified, and risen, also prophecy.

If it's your belief that tells you he wasn't, it's no more valid than my believing he was-

You are, of course, speaking with hindsight and knowledge of what has been written about the (possibly) historical character. Was everyone who lived at the time of Jesus aware of his miraculous nature and the prophecy of his coming?

Of course not! He, to them, was a blasphemer. As God granted Jesus the ability to perform miracles to show them, this was also the very thing that convinced them he was bad- a problem.
But, If I'm not mistaken, no other prophet until that time of Jesus had NEVER performed such consistent miracles, or illustrated such talent in teaching the gospel of God.

The previous books didn't warn us of the son of God, it prepared us for his coming. As we have been prepared to reject those who come in Jesus's name and who claim to be the risen Christ...

IMO todays world is more understanding...IE we dont burn witches lol...so I wondered, how come God didnt chose this day and age to send his son to earth?
Shankpin
Ouch! Yea, I've thought about that before..

but, the goal of Christ being born here was to sacrifice himself for humanity... to be put to death.. as bad as it sounds. Today, if he would have been here, they wouldn't have sentenced him to death, but maybe a small sentence or something remedial-- maybe not anything.. I *think* it would have contradicted God's original purpose of Christ being born.

but, I'm not a bible scholar.. there is a lot I personally don't understand.. I'm just thinking a possibility as to why..:/

Simon Magus springs to mind. A contemporary of the one known as Jesus. He even performed his miracles in Rome itself

For one dying for something tends drives a stronger message. But imagine the reaction to the miracles? Would anyone even believe them now? or would they treat him like another Criss Angel or David Blaine?

Bravo! the scriptures even tell us the events surrounding Jerusalem at that time and when he does physically take reign as King of kings he will return at the mount of Olives with ten thousands of his saints.

Not much is actually known of Simon Magus. He only appears in one spot in the entire Bible. Apparently he was a magician (whether real or simple illusionist, the Bible does not say) but is amazed at the power the disciples were showing (In the Upper Room the night before his death, Jesus gave the disciples the power to heal and cast out demons). After seeing the signs and miracles, Simon asked the disciples if they were willing to sell their secret, as if it was a magic trick, which leads me to surmise that he was an illusionist and thought the apostles were also illusionists who might be persuaded to part with their tricks for a price. But he was rebuked by Peter, who said that you cannot buy the Holy Spirit, how could he even think such a horrible thing.

And that's the last you hear of the guy in the Bible. This all takes place within the space of 15 verses (Acts 8:9-24).

And the proof of such miracles is?

Much was written of the miraculous nature of other man-Gods prior to the writings of Jesus - the stories of Heracles being one example. Do you have proof that such a figure did not exist and that his miraculous nature was simply the imagination of the writer?

As with any other believer of a certain faith, you have preconceptions about what has happened/will happen. I'm not saying the person claiming divine inspiration today is not deluded, but that it is no different from someone claiming divine inspiration some 2000 years ago.
