The Dark Knight Teaser Description?!
Source: BDE

link to trailer

Scooper 'BDE' has just sent in a big one... what looks to be a legit description of the teaser trailer for The Dark Knight that will play in select theaters with The Simpsons Movie starting July 27. Of course, if you'd rather not know a thing about the teaser until you watch it, then turn back now!

I have seen The Dark Knight Teaser. I don't want to reveal everything...

It starts out with the WB logo gracing the screen, followed by the DC logo and the Legendary pictures logo. The screen goes black.

It opens back up as a commercial paid for by the friends of Harvey Dent. We are shown shots of him talking, making public speeches, and walking in a suit, while a deep voice comes on and talks about Harvey Dent. A generic politician commercial.

What seems to be halfway through the commercial, it is interrupted by static, and blacks out. Out of nowhere a crystal clear image comes onto the screen of a blacked out man with large windows behind him. The camera slowly zooms in on him. He's talking (about what I won't say) and as he finishes he begins laughing. Lightning strikes, lighting up his face, as the laughter grows more manic. Cut to black.

The Batman Begins (now The Dark Knight's bat) emblem is shown with the words The Dark Knight. Then it says Summer 2008 and has the website at the bottom.

What is said... is a surprise that I must keep for now. It gave me chills.

thankfully they ditched holmes! she was the only really rotten thing about batman begins and i can't help but feel that the way she looks like the crypt keeper was just too distracting. laugh.gif however, it does always bug me when movies replace characters with other actors, but in this case it really is a step up, so it is forgivable. i'm also guessing we won't really see two-face until the very end of the movie. sad.gif

apparently they are going for a more grotesque look to the joker reports are that there will be very bad facial scarring which will be more prominent than for example Tim Burton's version of joker

that's how i always remember him from the comics it would be a travesty not to do so that's like showing two face without the scars and giving him just a split personality instead

true

Aaron Eckhart will make a good two face. But i get the feeling along with many others he wont become two face until the end. And that two face will be the main villian in the third installment.
DДrk_Lotu§
I'm OK with that but i really don't want to see the joker get killed off if they are making this a large franchise they should save Batman's greatest rival and have him live... i just have a feeling they are going to kill him off two face should be the main villain in the third with the joker behind the shadows or up to no good at arkham grin2.gif

yeah he will survive somehow im sure. If we can somehow find out if Ledger signed up forr two movies then all is cool.

i added into the first post but for those who missed it link to trailer

Nolan won't kill anybody off unless the story demands it.

Also I would like to note that Nolan and the cast are only signed for three movies and the way I hear and predict it Nolan and the cast will end at 3. Like I don't think their planning a five movie Joker/Two Face story arc or anything...or a cliffhanger at the end of 3.

bale has stated that he will only do three. He said along the lines of "there is only so far you can take a character before you loose interest " something like that. Once he got on board with Batman begins he knew there would be three.

I don't think Nolan will go past three either. I think it should end at three if Nolan and Bale aren't going to do it. I wonder if Warner Bros would continue on with out them though. I can live with a Spidey 4 without Tobey and Raimi because well Raimi's work can be easily replicated...but this Batman franchise can easily go down hill and the Batman franchise already has a bad rep. I think Warner Bros. can see that...they do own D.C. so they can just take another superhero and build that franchise in Batman's place(unlike Sony who really only has Spidey).

lol

sucks to be Sony with Comic books. But sony has the big Game movies so they can tap that tree

any way I think to many batmans would be boring

The Dark Knight Footage Screened!
IGN catches scenes from the upcoming sequel... here's what we saw!
by Eric Moro & Richard George

US, August 11, 2007 - For those who've been following IGN Comics' coverage of Wizard World Chicago 2007, here's a special movie-related treat: The cast and crew of The Dark Knight — the follow-up to 2005's Batman Begins — made a special convention appearance to take questions from the fans and screen a special "sizzle reel" cut exclusively for the event. In attendance were the film's director Christopher Nolan, writers David Goyer and Jonathan Nolan, and cast Christian Bale (Bruce Wayne/Batman), Gary Oldman (Lt. James Gordon) and Aaron Eckhart (Harvey Dent/Two-Face).

While coverage of the Q&A can be found on this page tomorrow, we thought we'd give you a quick peek at the footage that was shown. Of the sizzle reel, Nolan noted that the production is exactly 50 percent done with filming, so he patched together what shots he had to show the audience.

Much to the joy of those in attendance, the reel showed off a number of shots of Heath Ledger as The Joker. The Clown Prince of Crime was seen in a prison cell, dramatically speaking at the camera as if scheming some sort of diabolical plot. There were also several shots of Batman and The Joker fighting in what appeared to be an interrogation room — in fact, the Dark Knight can be scene using "bad cop" interrogation techniques, throwing The Joker across a table. There is a scene of The Joker dancing with Rachel Dawes (played by Maggie Gyllenhaal), reminiscent of the way Jack Nicholson's Joker danced with Vicki Vale (played by Kim Basinger) in 1989's Batman. Finally, there are a number of shots showing a war-torn Gotham City — a machine gun-toting Joker firing toward the camera.

While Eckhart has already gone on the record with word that Harvey Dent would be making the change into the dreaded Two-Face in this film, the footage served to confirm this. A shot of Dent from behind has someone coming up to the District Attorney saying, "I thought you were dead?" Dent's reply: "Half." Massive scarring can then be glimpse on the left side of his face. A dramatic shot of a quarter spinning on a table also served to "wow" the audience. In his non-scarred form, there is a shot of Dent first meeting Bruce Wayne. "Rachel's told me a lot about you," Dent says. To which Wayne replies, "I hope not."

Not to be outdone, there were several shots of Wayne and Batman. A number of quick bursts showed Wayne testing out new gear and working on equipment. A full shot of Batman running in his new suit was shown, as was a snippet of the Tumbler in action (no noticeable changes to the supped up Batmobile were evident) and Batman riding the Batpod — a high-tech motorcycle that is said to launch out of the Tumbler.

Last but not least, there was a shot of Lt. Gordon where he appeared to be gearing up some off-camera force (Batman? other police officers?) for war. After the footage was shown, Oldman noted that he had the honor of shooting a number of scenes with the Joker and that Ledger's performance was going to "knock your socks off."

^Sounds good, it will definately be interesting to see Ledger's portrayal of the Joker. Its inevitable that he will be compared with Jack Nicholson so heres hoping that he lives up to expectations and delievers his own unique yet similar Joker.
