I loved this movie so much! it was everything i hoped for and more. I was in awe during most scenes. The ending dragged a bit, i thought it was over like 3 times before it really was, but still, it rocked and Liv Tyler was beautiful as ever.
and i didnt know Sloth from the Goonies was an Orc in his spare time!

yeah, the movie rocked! It was scary and funny and sad and didn't drag on at all, even if it was 3hrs 15mins long.
I saw the midnight showing with two friends. Did anyone else find it really sad? I almost (but not quite) cried at about 4 different times.

lol I nicknamed that guy pigface. He just reminded me of a pig. I also thought it sucked when he dodged that big chunk of castle. Only it was cool the way he dodged it too lol.

This film was just far beyond superb, although I did had butt-cramps resulting from the 3++ hrs of sitting.

But well worth enduring the pain,& I still have plans of watching it again!!

I didn't even notice the movie was so long. I knew it was 3 + hours but it kinda flew by to me. ROTK is my favorite of the 3 LOTR's.

yay! saw it last night!
The movie was awesome. The most suspensful of the 3. But Moe's suspense was not of Frodo's fate. Rather, it was concerned more with the word "intermission"
Obviously Peter Jackson doesnt realize his audience has bladders. 3 hours is a long time to hold it. especially when Moe purchases the 'large drink for only 50 cents more" .

I liked the movie and all but holy crap did it drag on in the end! And the camara kept moving around i couldnt see the fighting that well! But when that little bug flew infront of Gandolf I jumped outta my seat screaming "sweet the ravens"
another bad comment about the movie!!! if sam was so far down from the hill how did he get up the hill and through the can in 10 or less minutes?

WOW, what an awesome film this is, some funny moments in it aswell as some sad and suspenseful, kinda made me sad when the movie ended cos last year after the Two Towers you knew that there would be another film the year after, with this one its truly the end and the journey is over. Kinda makes me hope that they will make the Hobbit...

It was awesome. It's great when a movie can give you a shiver up the spine, but when that happens 6 or 7 times in the same film? Genius.
I thought sloth from the Goonies was that guy as well, but he died in 1989.

I was abosutely engulfed by the entire movie, the beginning of the movie touching Smeagols/Gollums history was what was needed and the fight scenes were jawdropping. The only negative here was that in the end; after all is done in the book the hobits return to the Shire only to find it overrun by Sarumans cronies and then Saruman is stabbed by Wormtongue or something... Sarumans end is inconclusive but who cares. The ending did drag on it would go black and youd be like oh man its over but now i can rest my eyes and then it opens back...
One of the best trilogies of course next to Indiana...
I smell Oscars....

OMIGOSH !! THe Lord of the rings was superb!! I loved the beginning when you find out about Gollum's history, that was just wicked! And the fighting was really cool and i luved the music. I luved it when Pippin wa singing, and Legolas takes down the Mumakil.
The only thing I'm really bummed about is that they left out so many parts of the book like when Eowyn meets Faramir or when the shire is taken over by Saruman's gang. And parts that you saw in the preview/trailer weren't in the movie, eg: Eomer crying, Pippin talking to Merry etc, Eomer making Merry a guard of the Rohirrim ..
But overall I think it was the best fantasy movie of my lifetime

I know what you mean kreestar... my bladder was about to burst when it was over!!... There was no way I was going to miss even a second of it... not even for a bathroom break!
It was truly awesome... I liked the fact that at the end.. it didn't leave you hanging.. and it showed the fate of all the main characters... I can't think of anything negative to say about it... not even the length!
I can't wait until it comes out on DVD... I already have the other two.. and I will be first in line for this one too!
Maybe I will have a LOTR Day once I get the 3rd one... just sit in my pj's on my sofa with a blanket and loads of snacks and watch all three!... Ahhhhh .. that sounds wonderful...

I saw Return of the King while I was in San Francisco. It was pouring kitties and doggies and I have no desire to be cooped up in a hotel room all day.
It was a good movie, but in retrospect, it was a lot like the Two Towers except that it had a definite ending. Of the three films, I like the first one the best. The Fellowship of the Ring seems to pack a lot more things in its three hours running time than the other two in theirs.
Anyhow, I have a sneaky suspicion that 10 years from now (or even less!!!), a special edition of the movies will be put out...where they put in all the frigging scenes they have ever shot but didn't use. Liv Tyler did said there was a scene in Rivendell where Frodo and Arwen exchanged looks and Sean Astin said the fight between Frodo and Sam in TTT's conclusion was a lot longer. Thus, everything would be put in....

How can anyone
not love that movie? *sigh* I was in pure heaven. I had had way too much to drink (like Nxt2Hvn

) so I needed to go REALLY BAD, but when Legolas killed the elephant thing I was all "Yea! Go Leggy!" Everyone stared... O.o;; And when Aragorn kissed Arwen like that at the end, I was all, "Incoming! God!" And I got shushed.

It's not like I wasn't the only one doing that! I was just louder! And anyhow, at the end, these two high school boys were talking about it so seriously, like they knew everything. One was all, "Saruman--I mean, Gandalf--wasn't what I hoped. I thought his staff was made of silver metal, not wood, and that really disappointed me." I said really loudly, "I wish Denethor was my father!" And they gave me a dirty look.

O well. They were bugging me. They talked when

Legolas

killed the elephant thing, and I hated that. Poor leggy!

Just saw it last night, it was awesome.
Of course, Gollum and Smeagol were the best. And Legolas was good as always, but he should've taken the reigns of the oliphaunt (spelling?). He would've been so much more awesome doing that. They also should have kept the ghost people for the end battle, wouldn't have lost as many. (though I can't really complain that much, they both added more to the suspence.)

I loved this film. Best film of 2003 and maybe 2004. My mum cried at the sad parts and at the end this guy started clapping, even though we all knew it was a good film, the funny thing was he was the only one clapping.
Fights scenes i would of loved to of seen...
1. Gandalf vs Saruman
2. Gandalf vs Nazgul king
3. Ents vs Cave trolls
4. Ents vs Elephants

Perhaps blame Tolkien, after seeimg the Two Towers and Return of the King, I was sick and tired of watching the men go to war while the women just whined and whimpered and cried and sit on their asses! Whille Eowyn won't go down without a fight, the rest of these useless weepy harridans just seem to sit around and wait for the end!

My dear mum gave the following review
"The scenery was lovely. I think they could have got rid of that long fight though".
This is probably one of the reasons that Peter Jackson was asked to direct, instead of my mother.

I went back this week with my sister and I cried again ! I can't help it ! Perhaps it's that little thing in Frodon's eyes when he look up at Sam (what a hero Sam is in this one !) or Merry and Pippin been involves in the war ! They are so much emontions in this one ! And by the way I don't think it's too long ! It's just because Mr. Jackson want to tell this story as it is in the book. Respect to you Mr. Jackson, you're the best !!!
