I was watching conan O'brien recently and he did this story on how russia's population is decreasing. To keep this from happening russie has started a camp where youth gather, and are encouraged to have sex without protection.

So my question is:

Would you attend a camp where you meet new people and have sex with them shortly after you meet them?

I voted no, because if i was a teen and went to this camp and got knocked up (I assume thats the purpose)Who,s going to help me raise this baby ? And who,s going to pay for 18 years of expenses? Yup me, not the guy! Unless the government pays me to raise it and extra for myself and throw in a cute house with a great back yard,Oh and a car and all medical expenses paid for! Then i,d change my vote to yes, mabey!

Everyone would have to be screened for diseases..............doesn't this sound like some futuristic story?

It sure does! I saw a t.v. movie about a post nuclear war where most of the woman were sterile due to the radiation and so the government rounds up all those who can still have babies and forces them to have kids for the elite. I think Faye dunaway was in it and a few other well known actors who,s names are on the tip of my toung, but i can,t seem to spit them out right now, dang i hate when that happens!

No thanks. For one thing, majority of the kids in that place would more than likely be infested with VDs if they're all having unprotected sex. I wouldn't let some random guy just stick it in me, god knows where he'd been sticking it prior. And another thing, I don't want to have a baby because I definitely don't have the funds to support a child, and if I do want to have a baby I'd rather know the father as a person incase he's some crack addict, or a total dumba$$ that could potentially pass on bad genes to my child.

hahaha sorry and even if they had condoms, no I wouldn't. Contraceptives aren't foolproof anyway, and if you're spending long periods of time having sex, you still run a risk no matter how slight. In any case, condoms would defeat the purpose. It was to get girls pregnant, if you add contraceptives into the mix, then it becomes just about sex. I don't need to go to a camp for sex, I have enough male friends who are more than happy to accommodate, or I'd get myself another boyfriend. A sex camp just doesn't appeal to me. I'd rather spend my time studying, working, saving, travelling, and going out with my mates.

In my experience, it is. Try going on holiday to the party capital, meeting a seemingly great guy, going back to his hotel, and about a minute later it's over, he's asleep and I'm left wondering what the hell just happened. On top of that, I had no idea where I was and had to make my way back to my hotel alone at 3am. It wasn't a very nice experience. I avoid going off alone with strangers for any reason, not everybody is a total angel, and I wouldn't wanna find myself in a potato sack in some guys trunk as he drives off to dispose of my body At least with 'friends with benefits' you develop a relationship whereby it's about mutual pleasure. You never know with strangers, sometimes it's just not worth it. If I want a good time, I know where to go.

LOL don't worry about it, I agree, bad judgement on my behalf. I was young (this wasn't recently), in the party capital, we'd been hanging out all night, and he seemed like a decent guy. He actually approached me the next night, but I turned and walked off. Besides no one looks badly at guys for wanting a one night stand, don't see why girls deserve to be disrespected for wanting one too. Just because I prefer not to, doesn't mean I look badly at those who do.

lol what I was saying earlier when you said "too much information." A guy who's only in it for his pleasure, as opposed to a guy who's in it for the pleasure of both/all in involved. Obviously as a girl, I'd prefer the latter.


When I think teen, I think underage (below 18). Here in Oz, you're officially an adult at 18. That's when you're allowed to buy/drink alcohol, smoke, get your drivers licence, go to strip joints, bars, overage clubs, etc. I'm assuming it might be different in the US, I was there last year and at 20 years old I wasn't allowed to do anything fun in Vegas, so the concept of teen vs young adult would be different in my eyes.

If there are adults attending such a camp, hopefully they're able to actually support a child. When I think 'sex camp' I picture flocks of underage kids rushing for an opportunity to have sex, without thought of how they will support a child. I think (hope) adults would have at least thought it through, but who knows. Only time will tell whether this camp will create more problems than it's worth. I'm not too sure how things work in Russia, but it'd be a strain on tax payers if dozens of women suddenly go on single mother's welfare, or there's heaps of court battles because the father's won't pay any child support lol

Again, too much information......I don't know about the minority but I think the majority of guys want the latter also. I don't know what you think but that's what I think.

Not at the single mother's on welfare, but the father's refusing to pay child support. I was 2 when my parents divorced and my dad paid close to nothing in child support for me or my sister, so naturally I'm pretty cynical when it comes to young people not being responsible with kids. It wasn't a 'laugh out loud' I was just indicating I find that particular aspect amusing. I think something like this camp should have been thought through more thoroughly because I think problems as I mentioned previously will arise.

Anyway, this is my last post on the topic because I think I have more than answered your initial question and the ones that followed. It's all about preference, and naturally everyone feels differently. On a topic about sex, you really can't question a person's preference, which is typically born from personal experience. Bottom line is I won't sleep with a stranger, and I've stated my reasons.

It's hard enough being a teenager nowadays, so I would definitely vote no...What we do in our own home to teach these kids about sex is one thing. To be exposed to this kind of a camp is ludicrous...But then again, if the parents are receiving any kind of money from the government, and if the money comes first, then these poor kids would have no choice...

While the idea of free love and all is rather romantic, I find the idea of having sex with as many strangers as possible, in a camp no less, with the sole purpose of either having a good time or becoming pregnant, utterly revolting.

IMO, you need to have a commitment to carry through a pregnancy. Not just some flight of fancy from a two week camp.
