I've eaten pork hocks (pig's ankles, not feet) with sourkrout. It's really good with boiled potatoes. A German dish my aunt used to cook. I have tonnes more, here are two:

Butter milk soup: butter milk, raisins, sugar, spaghetti and cinnomon...ugh!

Cottage Cheese Dumplings: cottage cheese, eggs, and flour. Roll them out, boil them ans serve with melted butter and sugar sprinkled on top.

In Iceland they take rams heads (brain, fur, eyes, and all)
throw it on the grill then eat it once it reaches that perfect blackened stage

My ex-husbands family are Icelanders... I tell ya, those folks eat some of the weirdest most digusting stuff on the face of the planet. You hear about the weird stuff you can get in China and Asia? The Chinese have nothing on the Icelanders in the weird department. Egads.

As for the chinese thing, a previous teacher of mine went to china, and he told me that they have these containers in stores, that are filled with bugs, and you fill a plastic bag with the bugs and buy as many as you want, then when you are walking down the street you eat them like they were potato chips (I bet they are crunchy like that too.)
