FORT WALTON BEACH, Fla. — Spitting can be dangerous.

That's what a Pensacola man learned. He's in critical condition after falling out of a vehicle while trying to spit.

The Florida Highway Patrol said Miguel Rogelio opened the door of the car he was traveling in while it was moving at about 45 miles per hour.

The 37 year old fell out of the car and onto the roadway, hitting his head.

I think this teachs us all a valuable lesson.

Spit out the window... or wear your seatbelt. wink2.gif

Teh_Twilight_God

When I first read this I thought he had swallowed his car door & was trying to spit it out tongue.gif I actually once had a close call when I had stopped in front of a red light (it had turned green), I had some of my gum stuck to the outside window on my side ( I was driving) & had the window down trying to remove it , when a car sped through the red light right infront of me. Had I not waited at my green light to remove the gum I would have been hit! original.gif

Opened the door just to spit?

What on earth possessed the man to do that instead of rolling down the window mellow.gif .

Now if it was windy, and it came back to hit him in the face, he wouldn't have gotten caught... huh.gif

I open the door all the time to throw out my cigarettes, not because i'm too stupid to roll down the window, but because the window on the driver's side is broken and actually doesn't roll down.

Me, too. And at stop signs, I almost got munched by a new driver who blew through a four way stop. Silly kids.

Gah... and here I thought the same as AncientLight. I thought the guy has swallowed the door.

Phooey.

Chewing's a nasty habit anyway. Though... I burn a little tobacco in my smudge sticks.

hahaha!

You know, I really do understand why he openned the door, just not at that speed.

When I spit out the window it has the disgusting tendancy to splatter against the side of the car back on the rear window... not very nice to look at.

When you open the door to spit, it's a little easier to avoid that... but not at 45 mph laugh.gif

I like Native's idea with the spittoon thing tongue.gif
