Hi, RC.
Have you got a Mosrite that was actually used by the Ventures ?
Duane Eddy ? Cool.
Was it D.Eddy or Vince Ray that did Rebel Rouser, the 1st (& only ? ), instrumental to get BANNED for influencing young
people & causing juvenille delinquency ?
YES, music is Universal! It"s the language we all understand.

Yes sir, a real, live Ventures Mosrite, played in the late 50s/early 60s by Nokie Edwards. It's in pretty rough shape, and I'm afraid to put it in a shop, so I just keep it the way it is. By the way, the Ventures were the only group every awarded a cultural interchange by Japan. I don't think they were quite so popular in the US, except for the first few years, but it seems that Japan, Britain, and Germany they had a good following. Most of their albums aren't available in this country (I wish they were, I've only accumulated some 46 of their 180? albums). I must be nuts!!
Duane Eddy did Rebel Rouser. At the time, he was a bit famous for the sax included and the party voices in the background. Many claimed those were supposed to be the parties of the Hell's Angels and other biker groups, but I don't really know if that was the intent. I had some altercations with a bunch called the Axmen down in Southern California, but I was with a training group that was much nastier than the bikers, so they laid off (during Nam).
Duane also did one of the finest (in my mind, anyway) versions of Ghost Riders in the Sky of all, and I think everybody and brother played that thing.
Ah, well. Just keep listening, and playing. Whatever kind, it's all got rhythm.
