Acute necrotizing colitis and obstruction.
Teasdale C, Mortensen NJ.

Acute necrotizing colitis is a rare complication of colonic obstruction. Six cases occurring during a 20-month period are described. The presenting features were those of colonic obstruction with shock but without perforation. At laparotomy changes ranged from mucosal necrosis to frank gangrene in the colon proximal to the obstructing lesion. Gram stains of resected colon showed Gram-positive bacilli, resembling clostridia, invading the mucosa and submucosa. Two patients treated by defunctioning colostomy alone died but the remaining 4 survived after total colectomy. The cause is not known but raised intraluminal pressure may result in terminal mucosal ischaemia allowing anaerobic organisms to invade the bowel wall.

There are a couple of questions my colleagues and I are often asked about Parapsychology. First of all, where can one take courses in parapsychology, and secondly, where can one earn a degree in parapsychology so as to enter the field? Both questions are a bit limited in the way they can be answered, since the resources and support of this field are severely limited.

In actuality, nearly all of the parapsychologists in the world do not have a degree in parapsychology and may have backgrounds in almost any science you can think of (though a large number have degrees in psychology and physics). A number of schools offer degrees in psychology, anthropology, or other fields allowing you to do your work with a parapsychological concentration, often under the guidance of a parapsychologist affiliated/on the faculty of the university. Such schools include the University of Virginia, West Georgia College, Antioch University, Saybrook Institute, California Institute of Integral Studies, and the Institute for Transpersonal Psychology.

Oh, it was a demon attack and as I had misspelled necrotizing as necrolyzing in a Community discussion, I posted it in the Community forum rather than trying to use a mass personal message mailing, for some who wanted to know more about the medical condition, as well as the some of the people who were wrapped up in an unfortunate incidence who came from a para site. (No pun intended)
