Calcutta, India - Police in India forced a man to eat 50 bananas as a laxative after he was accused of stealing a necklace and then swallowing it.
After the bananas did not work as intended, police fed him rice, chicken and bread, the BBC reported.
The necklace, which had appeared on an X-ray, finally was excreted and retrieved.
He was accused of stealing the $1,100 necklace from a woman as she shopped for toys. He is set to appear in court Monday in Calcutta and could face a prison sentence.

I don't know if they could sanitize it enough for me to ever wear it again. YUCK!
I know when i read the artical i thought why feed him bannanas? they just constipate you! They should have given him prunes,apple sauce and a laxitive,and mabey an enima for good luck and that necklace would have come out so fast it would have shot across the room!

aye chihuahua... it wasn't like they weren't ever going to see it again... guess a few days were just too long to wait..
bannas are anything but laxatives. sure their fruit but they will constipate rather than "relieve".

It could have been worse. They could have surgically removed it! At least he got free food.

I was wondering if bananas would make you constipated too. I am interested to know how the hell he ate all that food they forced down him, he must have ended up with a stomach like a woman nine months pregnant!
Imagine trying to wash that necklace afterwards, yuk!
