TALLINN (Reuters) - Police in the Baltic state of Estonia stopped a man who was driving erratically at the weekend, only to find he was blind.



The 20-year-old was driving in the southern city of Tartu early Sunday -- helped by instructions from his 16-year-old passenger.

"At first they thought he was just drunk, but the man kept missing the tube for the breath test, then they realized he was blind" and arrested him, Tartu Police spokeswoman Marge Kohtla said Monday.

I,m trying to imagine the conversation they had that led them to believe this would be a good idea. Mind you i,ve seen drivers with two good eyes who don,t seem to be aware of whats going on around them any more than this guy could! I remember a movie i watched where the guy who,s blind drives a car, played by Al Pacino i think? Do ya think thats where they got the idea?

Did they arrest both of them or just the blind one? They need to arrest the 16 year old too because what on earth made him think it would be okay for him to guide the blind bloke is hard to imagine.

Ah yes, ''Scent of a woman'' ............ I don't think I'd be brave enough to be a passenger of a blind driver. Then again, I'm not comfortable being a passenger of any driver.

first a guy with only one leg and no arms arrested while driving now a blind man, what next, is lenin going to be arrest for driving while dead?

We call those drivers the "Magoos", as in the old cartoon Mr. Magoo....
