Full Version: The gravity-defying hill?

Apparently there's a hill that makes objects go up it instead of down it.

Gravity-defying Hill

The video explains it, but it's still really cool to see how it works. I wonder, if while you're rolling 'up' do you feel the same way as if you're rolling 'down'?

There is a hill like that in Vernon, BC. A friend of mine showed me it. It is an obvious optical illusion, but awesome to experience all the same.

I know that it's an optical illusion, however I couldn't believe it right from the start anyway. For a start how do we know someone wasn't actually driving the car in reverse and when it came to the skateboard, it would have been a better illusion if we could see him going up the hill rather that the camera being on his lap facing away from him lol.

Yeah, I was thinking those same things. At least he showed the level and how the hill is slanting.

We have a hill that does that about a mile or two from where i live, called hazel we all used to go there in our teens and put the cars in neutrel and sit there while we rolled up the hill it was a stange feeling! At first people don,t believe you but then you take them up there and let them experience it themselves, and they have a lot of fun with it!
WolfStar
lol cool! xD I wish I could experience it.

In the comments they talked about putting water on the hill and it going in the opposite direction of the car. If you ever go there again, can you try it? I can't really see how it would work, since it's just an opptical illusion, but it can't hurt to test it.

I bet ya all would like to read about Sedona if ya all like this. The forum might have something on it in a search.

Here in Jersey we have a 'gravity hill", and I'm sure most states will claim they have them also...It's supposingly an optical illusion that is caused by the surrounding land...
