The XBOX 360 sucks. Period. I had mine taken in for repairs (under warranty) 6 times before I just threw the thing away. Sure, I wasted 400 bucks, but It's not like anybody would take it.

Microsoft has admitted there is a problem with heat so I have no idea why you are still trying to defend it.

360 Cores and Premiums with HDMI? An inside source spills the beans

By Ben Kuchera | Published: August 07, 2007 - 02:07PM CT

When I was at E3 I had a chance to get a look at the new Halo-edition 360 hardware, and I asked about the HDMI connection. "HDMI will probably be standard moving forward," I was told. I pushed for more information, but was rebuffed. Now, after the price drop announcement, a mole sent us some interesting information about Microsoft's upcoming hardware plans. If you're thinking of buying, you may want to hold off.

First, a few caveats. This is rumor. I won't name the source, but the information she/he provided me matches up with everything I've been told and understand about Microsoft's future hardware plans. I think it sounds solid, but I'm not willing to say this will definitely happen.

According to my source, Microsoft wants to cut through all their existing inventory of hardware. They will then quietly "soft launch" a new version of the Core and Premium hardware in late August or September that will include an HDMI port. It's also expected that this new hardware will feature the 65nm process for the CPU and quieter DVD drives. The new hardware will ship in boxes very similar to what we saw on store shelves now, but there will be a small "call out" on the box so you know you're getting a system with the HDMI connection.

Much about this information makes sense. We can expect the 65nm machines to launch any time now, and with the launch of the Halo-edition system only the Cores and Premiums will lack the HDMI, this revision will make the connection standard. We also know Microsoft will be fixing the heating issues that caused their costly warranty extension, and bundling all these updates into one product moving forward would be a smart move.

I guess there just getting all the old 360's out with the price cut to get ready to relaunch the new hopefully reliable consoles.

Update: Microsoft has confirmed the addition of HDMI ports to all newly manufactured Xbox 360 premium consoles. "Yes, we are offering an HDMI port for Xbox 360 simply as another choice in Xbox 360 owners’ games and entertainment experience," a Microsoft rep told Shacknews in an e-mailed statement. "Retailers are gradually introducing HDMI-enabled Xbox 360s into the channel to meet demand."

Regarding the possibility of an HDMI output on the $279.99 SKU, the Microsoft rep said, "We have not announced any plans to add HDMI to the Xbox 360 Core System." Microsoft would not reveal whether any other additions had been made to newly available Xbox 360 models, such as the inclusion of a 65nm process. "We are constantly updating the console’s more than 1700 internal components and therefore will not comment on details of specific components or manufacturing processes," he said.

A Shacknews community member reported finding an HDMI port on an Xbox 360 premium console he purchased today at a Target store in Atlanta, Georgia. The newly discounted prices for Xbox 360 SKUs went into effect today, with the premium selling for $349.99.

The HDMI output was introduced as a feature of the black Xbox 360 Elite this spring, but Microsoft made no mention of including the feature in upcoming iterations of the premium or core Xbox 360 SKUs. An image of the HDMI-enabled console provided a manufacturing date of July 4, 2007. The documentation included with the console contained an illustration of the HDMI port as well, and referenced the option to use an HDMI cable for video output.

Microsoft has said the upcoming Xbox 360 Halo 3 Special Edition console will include an HDMI port when it is released in September.

Whenever any of my techno- gadgets goes out of wack i just buy a new one. It gets me angry when it hasn't lasted very long but ,most of the time they do last a good amount of time. I learned a long time ago that when a techno gadget breaks it is broken. Buy a new one. That's that. Any purchased item over a thousand dollars though wont be so easy to replace and forget about. If my X-Box broke i would chuck it, save up and buy a new one.

In the past i would fret about broken gadgets and try and repair them and stuff and it seems as though they make it so that when it breaks it's done for. You have to get a new one.

To tell you the truth, I never liked Halo, and I did take care of it, I left it on a table, with alot of space to breathe while letting it's plug go into my wall socket, and not a surge protector.

All of the big three have their pros and cons...every console on every platform since the beginning of time has.

360 craps out on people, PS3 has no games yet and costs too much, Wii has no games yet and has poor graphics.
