As many of you may (or may not be aware) Mike Vick of the Altanta Falcons Football team is under investigation for illegal dog fighting. This discusting and horrible news broke about 3 weeks ago and we've been discussing it on the American Professional Football thread (I'm from an NFL background family) here on U-M. Well I just found the most hysterical thing and I thought I'd shared it with you:

A federal grand jury indicted Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick Tuesday in an investigation into illegal dog fighting.

Vick and three others are charged with violating federal laws against competitive dog fighting, procuring and training pit bulls for it and conducting the enterprise across state lines.

In the indictment, Vick and his co-defendants are accused of beginning dog fighting in early 2001, the former Virginia Tech star's rookie year with the Falcons. Also accused are Purnell A. Peace, Quanis L. Phillips and Tony Taylor for "knowingly sponsoring and exibiting an animal fighting venture," and other charges.

That is just horrible. I can't believe that there is dog fighting in this day and age.

I was sickened by this, and cannot believe that this star football player performed such horrific things to poor defenseless doggies..I cannot stand the thought of anyone hurting a child or animal. He should BE a chew toy, I will take 1,000 of those please LOL..he is a total POS..

Sick Vick...I used to think he was one of the best, and until the indictment came out I still thought there was hope...Dog fighting disgusts me, it's inhuman, and so he.

Yep I say give the dogs their fair chew... but I have a sick mind sometimes LOL... I just died laughing when I saw the dog chew toy thing... DOGGIES FIGHT BACK!!

Oh yea, and this thing DOES happen. AND it happens WAY MORE than you realize. I do charity worked for fostering and rescuing unwanted dogs/cats doomed for the needle. ugh. So many wonderful dogs/cats have been placed in loving families that would have been killed.

Another interesting note: this girl I work with on this dog/cat fostering. She picked up immediately on my empath thing. I was so embarrassed. I finally admited yes to her and she wisked me off to do a dog search and rescue based on psychic thoughts/intuition. I was like WHOA ... It was cool. Don't ask me to tell the story though. Too much.
