G'day Bantonp5, this is a bizzarre and sick crime :s3. Are there any other cases of such 'vampire like' crimes that you have read about? Is it a common thing? The bloke charged is obviously mentally deranged and obsessed.
I would like however like to relate a strange incident that happened to me whilst touring the beautiful Greek Island of Zakynthos in 1994 (also known as Zante) :s09 :s09 :s09. I had a dream of boat drifting towards a cloudy mass on the horizon. When this boat neared the clouds, they transformed into the evil face of a vampire. When I woke up I felt that my inner thigh was very itchy. As I pulled up my shorts i noticed two distict dark red marks (they looked like fang marks) about 10cm apart. I thought perhaps that it may have been a spider, but the marks were too far apart for that of an arachnid (I could be wrong). A chill came up my spine when I noticed that the window was slightly ajar. I was freaked out somewhat!
The house I had been staying in belonged to one of my mate's relatives and was around 150 years old. I checked with the family, and no-one heard anything during the night. :s09 :s09 :s09
The itch continued to bother me during that day and the marks finally disappeared after about two weeks later. On my way back to the Greek Mainland, I heard an old man on the ferry telling some tourists about Zakynthos' tradition with vampires. When I got to Nauplion I leafed hrough some books in one of the bookshops and read bits and pieces about the island of Zakynthos and Vampires. There is a folklore connection there. Ok see ya later. :s6 :s6 :s6 :st

Welcome to the forum Azazel. :sh (Is that as in the scapegoat? :s6)
Interesting story; could they not have been simply bug bites? As for the dream, it’s my understanding that one of the many factors that contribute to a dream is what is happening to the body while it sleeps; which then gets interpreted into the dream in some form. When I was young, I had a dream about skydiving out of a plane; and when I woke up I had fallen out of bed. :s8 You could have heard about the vampires previously on your trip.
Horrible crime bantonp5. :s3

[blue]It's bad enough that someone has killed that lady, but to sour it all with the riddiculous premise that he was trying to be a vampire is plainly wrong. What a freak.
As for the vampires on Zante, hmmm. I think I agree with Tommy about the body influencing the dream. And I think if it had been a vampire, and the legends were true, you would in the 8 intervening years, be a vampire yourself now.
Ps... do you like garlic bread? ;D

Hi Loonboy & Tommy, thanks for the feedback. I agree that the mind and body influence each other. I have often thought that it may have been a spider of some sort, or as you suggest a bug.
Loonboy, I love Garlic Bread !!!!! :sk :sk :sk

I've met quite a few people who believe (or at least try to convince others) that they are vampires. Occupational hazard being a Goth i s'pose :D . Usually they are just unintentionaly funny.
Unfortunately not in this case.
P.S. welcome azazel!

Vampire murders or people who drink blood after murdering are more commmon than you think.
Peter Kurton the Vampire of Dusseldorf, a German serial killer when he could not find a victim Man , woman or child he used to cut the heads of swans and drink their blood.
A man called Trenton Chase in America also used to drink the blood of his victims. He thought his own blood was turning to powder. Theses are only two there are many more.
The drinking of blood was also a rite during the Mau Mau
uprisings in Kenya. The blood of the victims would be caught in a bowl and passed around. They where soon put down by an even more brutal group called the British Army who slaughtered them and ended the uprising.
