Thanks for sharing that. Do you do much stargazing or nebula watching? If you were on the moon, would it be like two earths?

Mars can never get closer to Earth than just over 34 and a half million miles away and the Moon is only a quarter of a million miles from Earth. This means that even when Mars is at it's closest to Earth and the Moon is at it's closest to Mars the difference is around 0.74%. How much difference do you think this will make to an object that appears little bigger than a point of light?

Since these people were so quick to point out to you that they thought it was a hoax but it really did happen back in 2003
Are you really trying to claim that this isn't a hoax are you just smarting because you were the first person to start a thread on this nonsense this year?
It is true that Mars was at it's closest to the Earth for 60,000 years in August 2003
however the stuff about it appearing like a second Moon was a hoax then and it is a hoax now. Mars appeared as a bright red star like object, the same as it always has.

and the atomic bomb was not quite as powerful as they expected, there might be a whole different meaning to the situation than just what you can see.
Which atomic bomb? There are rather a lot of them and most of those that have been tested (including the two dropped on Japan) have performed exactly as expected. What does this have to do with the subject anyway?

Like, when did the war between the US and Iraq really get started? It did start sometime in 2003.
Now, let's take a look at the planetary alignment now. Where is Mars now? What is happening in Iraq now?
Venus is coming into a type of alignment then too and it is said to be closer than mars on that date.
Mars is not at opposition now and won't be until December of this year. Mars comes to opposition about every 26 months like clockwork so what is your point?

Venus Retrograde: July 27 to September 8, 2007
http://www.cafeastrology.com/venusretrograde.htmlAs the planet of love and values, Venus retrograde periods are times when we re-assess what—and who—we value. It is a period that most astrologers consider inopportune for getting married or starting a new relationship. Major financial undertakings are not advised during this period as well. Venus retrograde cycles are good times for creating budgets and financial plans, and for re-thinking our personal relationships. Taking action in the areas of finance and love is not advised until Venus turns direct again. [/color]
Love and war; isn't that the way it always is?And this is relevant to the Mars as big as the Moon hoax how?
Greggk you are making some mighty big claims for someone that has demonstrated that they are totally clueless about even the most basic of astronomy.
