this is a good read very interesting
and the investigation in the link provided was quite indepth
but i dont think this should be classed as a monster
a monster by definition is evil, horrid and nasty
i see no evidence of this here
in fact its only act was to scream a bit runaway and smell bad !!!!
if anything it was an act of defence possibly of a frightened creature ?????
The Malayan pit viper is a CREATURE that's characterized as being "ill-tempered, with long fangs, and responsible for many bites, with venom that's hemotoxic, destroying blood cells and tissue...."
http://www.wilderness-survival.net/snake/28/Therefore, I would say the Malayan pit viper fits your definition of a MONSTER (being evil, horrid and nasty)........
I am merely using the Malayan pit viper as an example. I am in no way suggesting that the Flatwoods Monster was a Malayan pit viper.
The point I am making is, to call it the "Flatwoods Creature" instead of the "Flatwoods Monster" would be misleading, in that it would portray it as more of an "Earthly creature," as opposed to (possibly) something more bizarre and unexplainable, say, "alien."
Hope that makes sense!
