Applications flood in for £35k-a-year chocolate tasting job

Fortnum & Mason say they don't think they'll have any trouble filling their chocolate taster vacancy.

The £35,000-a-year post was advertised on Sunday as "the best job in the world" and already the store has been inundated with applications.

Personnel director Cathy O'Neill says: "We've had loads of people writing in saying they have absolutely no experience, or they work in the metal industry or something, but they love chocolate."

Outgoing chocolate taster Jenny Cork, who weighs only 8 stone after 13 years in the job, says: "I admit it's been tough."

The Daily Telegraph says the job involves travelling around the world finding the best chocolate makers for the store's products.

Miss O'Neill said: "I don't expect to have any trouble filling it. My nine-year-old daughter Molly has already written to the managing director."

She said of the job: "Tasting is the key. You have to be prepared to taste."

I love chocolate, but after a while I think I would start to 'dread' working with it day in and day out.

It is a great 'treat' even to have a bit on a daily basis, but after a while....ugh.  :s01  I might end up looking like this, minus the smile :se

It's a lovely thought though, and something to really 'dream' about   :s2

Can you imagine having all that chocolate around you and not really being able to eat any of it, only being able to taste it (or, in other words, eat it really slowly).  That would be an absolute nightmare.
