I have just come across this pic and wondered if anyone knew what the strange diamond shapes were. I have seen loads of pics with orbs, mist and the vortex things but never anything like this before. Could it just be a reflection from something do you think?

The vortex is a camera strap. The diamond shapes could be pollen. Pollen comes in all different shapes, some of them diamond shaped. Imagine one of these photographed while floating in the air, instead of the usual round orb like dust particle.

Thanks for that someoldlady, the shapes do look very similar to the pic you posted. Im not sure about the mist/vortex thing being a camera strap though.

Im not a big orb/vortex fan, I do believe most of them are something in front of the camera, dust or water drops or something but this one has me thinking.

oh I forgot to say, for anyone who does like orbs and stuff theres a couple of pretty good pics on the same site including a shot of a moving one

The shape I can see is of a person, a lady walking in a long dress, I can see her arms. Clearly.

Well they are pretty what ever they are. Hmm if they are pollen would they appear so big in the pic? Pollen is tiny. I don't know anything about cameras.

Well there's no life in it.
The one i saw was well alive and wonderful and the colour was the same as the pic.
I can draw it but i'm still waiting to see other orbs like this.

I noticed that link was related to Alien and i'm into Alien thing when i saw that orbs.

I remember before I got my new camera I was getting diamond shaped orbs in some of my pictures. After a long period of analysis and test shots with the camera I determined that it was lens refraction. When the conditions were right light from the flash would bounce back to the camera and enter through a tiny crack in the lens giving some very interesting looking photos.

Wow! I have to admit I've never seen anything like at (in the OP link). Very interesting indeed. Have NO IDEA what to make of it!!! But it's very pretty and looks kind of "alive" in a weird way. Hmmm, Interesting. Jody

These are similar pics (not her's, someone else's) that was also proven to be a camera malfunction.

So I'm a lady now.... just wait till I see you next lol. Those are a couple of pics that occurred with the camera. It was after the warranty period, but yes I now have two new cameras.

Oh yes ! i agree with this, it's camera lens effects.

I could believe that the orbs are dust particles but as for the diamond like things I don't believe that to be pollen. For one dust particles and or orbs usually show up kind of blurry these diamond things look more clear.

Yup, it all depends on the aperature of the camera. That is, the shape of the parts in the lens that open and close the shutter. Here is a site that tells a bit about orbs and aperature. Mine are octagon.

Anything real close to the lens will appear big. Dust on the lens makes huge orbs. Here is a picture of drops of water (inside the red rectangle) on my lens. Pretty big for a drop of water.

after looking at the pic again last night I think I see the bit you mean to be the camera strap (dunno why I didnt notice it before, maybe too much light on my screen?) Do you mean the bit that looks like a curvy ladder that starts at the bottom right of the photo and curves up and over the chair that is in the shed? It seems to have two distinct sides to it and also a couple of bits that look like segments? It does look like a strap but its also see through, I can easily see the chair behind it. I am still not convinced that the rest of the white blur in the pic is a camera strap though, it goes all the way upto the top of the pic and also right to the left of the pic in what looks like a completely random shape and looks like it is wound around the standing mans wrist.

I have written that without reading the rest of the thread so apologies if all that has been explained

I did notice on looking again at the photo that at the back of the shed there seems to be a shelf of some sort with what looks like 2 beigy coloured shapes on it, the diamonds seem to be inline with the shapes so maybe it could be a reflection of some sorts?

I guess everyone will have to take my word on it that MP is for more "woman-like" then I am

they look kinda fake to me, sorry if that disapoints ya:(. i use to believe any picture i saw, but now that i'm getting older, my brain doesn't believe stuff so easly anymore.

I agree that you can't really believe most photos. However, I disagree with your use of the word fake. Fake sort of makes it seem like the photographer made the orbs or shapes in the picture with the intention of fooling people into thinking it is paranormal. I believe most orb photos are caused by something not paranormal, but I doubt many of them are faked.

LOL no it doesnt disappoint me, I'm pretty sceptical about all the orb, vortex thing, I do believe most of them are dust, hair, camera straps, faults on the camera/film etc This was something I had never seen before and it looked pretty strange.
