Lilith Incarnate
On the hill is a secret that sings...
By the tree there live magical things...
A door way to another realm...
Hidden inside that ancient elm....

The forest beyond is alive...
A place where all the wonderous things thrive...
Dancing fireflies light my way...
And then the faries come out to play....

Music is heard through the gentle mist...
Strange and exciting like a lovers first kiss...
Elves and faries dancing in a circle of flowers...
While their kings and queens sit in their ivory towers...

The moss covered ground sparkles with dew...
The whole atmosphere making me feel anew...
Unicorns prance like regal kings...
Mermaids sing in their clear mountain springs....

The time has come for me to go...
I wave good bye and pay the toll that i owe....
I leave a small trinket, means not much to me...
They bid me farewell and welcome me back warmly...

I cross back through the gate way feeling a little bereft...
This little place is all i have left...
I've been blessed with this secret...
And my beautiful little boy will be the next to keep it...

I look down at him warmly...
He smiles and holds up a flower for me...
I reach down and kiss his forehead...
I whisper to him softly, "Come my angel, it's time for bed"......

Emily Dickinson
I agree - that is a lovely piece. Halfway through, I felt like I was in Shakespeare's magical world of fairies in "A Midsummer's Night Dream" and by the end I was back in reality with you and your son. Very, very cool.
