Not a major topic of discussion, but it's something to think about.

Think about it... there are a lot of places when you combine everything across the world that is haunted. Why is more and more people seeing spirits? Is it because once you are open to it, you become the receiver like many who have seen them? Or perhaps... me and my partner chuckled a bit over this one, but seriously, what if we are experiencing judgment day and we didn't even know it? The world is oblivious to a lot of things. With all of the evidence out there, science or no science, something is going on to have our world be so spiritually active.

Good question Pluto. Here's a little idea that popped into my head as I was reading it. I was reading something months ago about the Mayans and the whole Mayan Calendar. Apparently the world is going to "end" in 2012 according to the Mayans.... but it's not as litteral as people think. It's the end of an age if you will, a change in consciousness. Perhaps it's not more people seeing them, but just the worlds "upgrade" in cousciousness is allowing more people to see these things. Supposedly, thoes who are open to it and allow it to happen, will experience a change in consciousness to the extent that if you want an apple you will have one in the palm of your hand (I watch a 5 hour documentary on this and the whole Mayan Calendar and Change in Consciousness was the topic, and that was actually said). So eventually in the future we, maybe not in our lifetime, will have these telekintic abilities that are as natural as breathing. Interesting to think about. So if you believe in this kind of thing, it's a possible answer to your question of why people see more today .... maybe it's always been around us, we're just noticing it now.

What do you mean by us experiencing Judgement Day and not even noticing it?

Well, if you have read the bible... it states the rise of the dead will come to life and take the souls of the living. It's been a long time since I read the bible, I might of gotten that from a different scripture. However If I recall in the bible when it refers to judgment day, that's the end of the world. I think it refers to our spirits leaving this world. Something like that. I'm not a big religous person. I consider mself to be agnostic and do not pertain myself to one religion. Simply because there are so many theories, and history has been re-written so many times because of discoveries and science. I believe in god and I know he works in mysterious ways. Religion actually plays a huge part in the paranormal field. Why is it so many spirits are rising from their grave? There are many theories and different prophecies about judgment day. We won't know until that time comes. So I go by a couple of motto's. You only live once, so live life to your fullest. Since you never know when your last day is going to be live each day like it's your last. I try my best to live by those rules. LOL...

Lol good for you man, words to live by. I am familiar with Judgment Day as I am a Christian, I was just wondering where you were coming from. There are so many religious theories and different religions so it's not like there are one set of rules to follow lol, everyone believes something different about the afterlife.

Another way to look at it is that they aren't even spirits at all, but it could be the slight chance that everything is happening at once - our history as we know it, our future as some of us think they know it, and right now just on different frequencies. Myself and a few members have talked about this a couple of times, and it's a pretty cool theory. If everything is happening at once and you get a little off vibration in a certain frequency causing it to overlap into another one, you maybe get the ghost effect where you think you see a spirit. That could explain hauntings if you look at it the right way.

Supposedly this theory is true. A vibration in a frequency that say carries the past as we know it overlaps onto ours for a few seconds. This can explain the different types of hauntings. Allow me to try and explain as I am completely thinking this up as I go ... having a brainstorm if you will.

Residual - The persons in the other frequency don't notice us and go on about their business just as if the frequency shift has never happend. We see it because we happen to be looking in that particular area when it happend.

Intelligent - Both frequencies notice each other and try to communicate or find out whats actually going on. I notice that with some Intelligent hauntings you get answers to questions when asked ... if someone asked you a quection wouldn't you answer?

Poltergeist - More than likely if you seen a strange person(s) in your house all of a sudden, and they seemed to be doing something unappropriate to you, you'd think robbery and try to stop the act from happening ... perhaps by throwing something at them.

This is just something I thought up as I was going ... I like throwing odd theories out there and see what response I get. I'd rather believe that it's just dead people coming back, because it seems a lot easier than having reality shifts and having everything happen at once on different frequencies .... but it's fun to think.

Well remember everyone felt the same way back in the late 1800's and the early 1900's during the big Spiritualism movement and nothing so drastic as "Judgment Day" happened then either.



I think it's just to do with culture and stuff like this just comes around in a circle every so often. Like aliens for instance. Aliens peaked in the 50's and then again in the 70's and then again in the 90's.

It just happens. However if it comforts you to find significance in it, I don't see any harm in it whatsoever. As long as you're not leading cults to their destruction that is.

I find I'm in agreement with you a lot lately ... probably that stabbing a while back. Yeah things that go around, eventually come back around. For example, rock music in the 60's came back in the 90's. Disco and other electronic Music came back in the 00's. Fashion has made a comeback .... so why not ghosts and other such things. Good possibility Ethyl.

DOOD!! I have too noticed the things that are going on that look like the end of days! Great topic! I do think that America being such a young country, doesn’t have as much "spiritual activity". Think about how active Europe is!!! Would you agree? I come from a line of Mediums, and they too have noticed a spike in activity.

Don't forget all the floods and hurricanes/storms. The worlds been ending/dying since the day it was formed. Why do we need signs of something that only certain religions believe in? To others it's just like ... ok there are lots of storms and floods because of global warming or whatever they wish to blame it on. I just find too many loop holes in religion and whatnot ... I guess that's why I choose to avoid it for the most part (I can appreciate faith though). As far as judgement day .... we are being judged everyday, by each other, it's said that we are all a part of God isn't it ... and if you can make it through another day without being killed or killing yourself, you have survived judgement day once again. Everyday has a lesson of sorts , and thoes who fail to let the lessons make them stronger, succumb to J.D. ... and I dont mean Jack Daniels lol, although it helps quite often.

That's just my little view on the whole Judgment Day thing.

I don't think the world is any more haunted now than ever.

But I do think some people are more open to recognizing the "symptoms" of a haunting.

And, thanks to a number of recent TV shows and movies, anyone with a digital camera can snap a pic, get an orb, and claim to have captured a ghost. So reports are more numerous.

But as we all know, or should .... Orbs don't mean ghosts.

Wow! I thought I was the only one who thought this! As to the OP, I agree with MasterPro. Maybe it is just that we are recognizing that there are spirits around, if you look at the peoples before they were converted to Christianity, they were very aware of spirits, and some tried to be in constant contact with them, others were terrified of them, that is why Halloween or Samhain was started, the dressing up as ghouls to confuse the spirits and the feeding of them to keep them from the living. Maybe Christianity has loosened it's hold on what people are expected to believe and what they can express as to the situations they experience.

But to most people, they don't. Hence the deluge of false paranormal reports and claims.

Could it also be, the more people die, the more chances there will be more ghosts?? *Shrugs* It probably wasn't as haunted back when the planet was only inhabited by dinosaurs.

I think the world has always been haunted, but way back people didnt discuss it openly like we do today. The media I believe, plays the biggest part in bringing it to the forefront. What started out with scary movies like the Exorcist, or Amityville, then moved on to documentaries, movies and tv shows. Now we have the Internet where everyone has the access to research it, and discuss it. Lastly thanks to modern technology like Digital cams, night vision, EMF, EVPs and thermal imaging, etc it seems much more "authentic" than ever before. JN

Also, more people = more encounters. And apparently humans as a species are overly occupied with breeding.

I don't know about you but I'd rather see the ghost of a beheaded medieval knight than wake up in the night and see a Brondosaurus chased by a T-Rex pass through my room.

Well alot of people now are more open with their experiances. Back then if you would of said OMG my house is haunted people would think you are crazy!! Well these days people are less skeptic about it. More and more people are coming out...that all there is too it. Population grows....more deaths...more spiritsLOL
