I have to admit I like this show more than I do TAPS. Simply because it stays away from all the drama and gets right down to the truth. Granted they do episodes on legends and places I never heard of, but this show might be the ones to discover those legendary cryptids and stories everyone is talking about. Long as they continue to keep it real. I think they have finally gotten a great idea going for a show?

What do you guys think of Destination Truth?

I've never heard of it ... would you care to give us a quick tutorial? Whats it about? what do they do? How long is the show? Thanks Pluto ... I find i'm in your threads a lot lately .... good poster. Thanks.

LOL... thanks Gene.

This is from their website. A brief synapse of their show. >

Destination Truth is a weekly adventure series that invites viewers along on one man's search for the truth while he investigates stories of the unexplained across the globe.

Every week, Josh Gates — a world adventurer and eager truth-seeker — and his small crew of production buddies visit a different international destination alleged to be the home of a notorious, supernatural or mysterious creature, such as the Chilean Chupacabra, as well as some lesser-known phenomena, such as the dinosaur-like creatures reported in the skies over Papua New Guinea, a haunted village in Thailand and the wolfman of Argentina. Josh searches for evidence to either prove or debunk these stories by talking to witnesses and experts and immersing himself in the local culture.

The series, executive produced by Neil Mandt and Michael Mandt for their Mandt Bros. Productions, is slated to premiere June 6, 2007 at 10/9C, following an all-new episode of the hit reality series Ghost Hunters.

Series executive producer Neil Mandt is a veteran of film and television. He directed the feature films Arthur's Quest and The Million Dollar Kid, and he worked as a producer at the Olympic Games in Sydney, for which he won an Emmy Award.

Most recently, Neil Mandt and his brother, Michael Mandt, have produced the popular Internet-travel comedy Web series www.laststopforpaul.com, and they will be releasing the project as the feature-length motion picture Last Stop for Paul in theaters this October.

I've seen several episodes hoping that maybe one would be decent. This is a horrible show. How that guy has a show of his own is beyond me. They go searching for absolutely nothing. I can't even believe that this show went on as long as it did.

I agree, I will take TAPS over that any day..JN

TAPs just reeks of set up. This show is investigating all types of paranormal things. I dig it.

I love destination truth. That guy is freaking hilarious not to mention good looking. My friend was telling me about the show that I missed with the wolf-man or whatever. He's talking with a translator to a local medicine man or someone like that and they tell him they can turn into a wolf and he's like, show me; so the guy just gets this blank look on his face and then starts snarling and acting like a dog and a couple of minutes later he's talking normally.

The guy Josh just looks at him and brings his hand down in front of his face and goes 'and scene!'.

Well, when you see an arrow-shaped object with lights on the tips in the sky and call it a "teradactyle" (whatever), you gotta wonder.... wink2.gif

Josh Gates is funny too... I hope they do more popular legends such as lochness, bigfoot, yeti, Lake Champ, Dover Demon or Jersey Devil etc; That would be cool.

I enjoy the legend of the Jersey Devil, especially with the most recent evidence that has surfaced that was posted on the Forums.

I enjoy this show because it takes a different view of the paranormal. Yes, the guy does poke fun at it at times, but he is funny at other times and despite the insults, he really does give it his all to find out the truth and not just automatically shut down an idea.

I think it was picked up for a second season, so maybe it will grow even better. Even Ghost Hunter's first season wasn't the greatest, but it keeps getting better.

I love this show, because they do less popular cryptids.
Im sick of people just doing Bigfoot and Chupa. The first
season I must admit was done quite sloppy. However when
it comes back with TAPS I wouldn't be surprized if it's a bit
more refined. Liked the Ropen episode and the Tokelshe one too
(even I hadn't heard of Tokelshe before this show).

Who ever was looking for the Lobizon Transformation scene, I
found it. Hilarious laugh.gif

The idea of the show is not bad but it gets executed horribly. When you go searching for an extinct dinosour that flies that has lights on the wings, I think is really pushing it? Hello? Does anyone else think that to be absolutely insane? How can a show stay on this long without found or shown any kind of evidence?
AdorablyDead
Because it's entertainment and he's hilarious. Besides he never says he's absolutely going to prove said creature exists. He's just trying to follow the leads and figure out if it does exist. And unlike TAPS it's not all mainly in the US.

The only time I ever got slightly creeped when watching that show was when he was doing the episode of the Thai ghosts I think it was. And he recorded the evp.
Buddharat
I really like this show (I stated that before), but I think it's wrong when people compare it to Ghost Hunters and say it's not as good of a show. It's not like they are fighting for the same time slot or anything. Also, he only did one ghost investigation, and if I remember correctly, he even said he didn't like to search for ghosts because they aren't as physical. So, really, I think it's a different show and a nice compliment to watch when I get done watching Ghost Hunters.
