New York - Something was different about newborn Jeshuah Fuller, but his proud parents couldn't quite put their finger on it.

Then his doctors, figured it out: Jeshuah was born with a few extra digits - six fingers on each hand, six toes on each foot.

Jeshuah, born in Brooklyn on Tuesday, is healthy and weighs just over 7 pounds. His rare condition, called polydactylism, is usually genetic. His dad was born with an extra finger on his left hand.

Jeshuah's mom, Quana Morris, said she'd had an ultrasound image taken during her pregnancy and knew he'd have extra fingers.

The extra toes, though, were a surprise.

Jeshuah is getting a hand from his doctors to deal with the bonus digits, which are outside the pinkies and little toes and serve no purpose. He'll have them surgically removed in a couple of weeks.

The extra fingers shouldn,t give him any trouble i would think, but the extra toes might make for a challenge in getting a pair of shoes to fit right! But i,m glad he,s otherwise a healthy little guy!

He's lucky to be born in thsi day and age when they have a greater understanding of genetics, he would have been thought to have been a witch or a son of a demon/ satan in the old days and possibly killed.

I wonder how many innocents died because of such ignorant beliefs? For that matter look at those who are still facing cruel deaths because of fear and ignorance! Mabey the world isn,t as enlightened as it thinks it is! In a few places like here we are a bit better, but so much of the world still have some strange beliefs!

Don't remove them! He'll be able to do his 12 times table quicker than any other kid....

I had a friend in primary school who had exactly the same thing, they removed them when she was about a year old. She had photos to prove it too, I swear I didnt believe her when she told me, lol.
