CUERO, Texas - Phylis Canion lived in Africa for four years. She's been a hunter all her life and has the mounted heads of a zebra and other exotic animals in her house to prove it.
But the roadkill she found last month outside her ranch was a new one even for her, worth putting in a freezer hidden from curious onlookers: Canion believes she may have the head of the mythical, bloodsucking chupacabra.
The woman who found it is apparently a hunter from Africa who has mounted heads of animals all over the place. Could you image having a Chupacabra head mounted in your living room? I agree with the veterinarian mentioned in the article though, from the head it just looks like a dog to me. But I guess the woman who found it would know more about animals than I do.

I'm sorry, but I laughed so hard then.
Of course Chupacabra reports are still going to keep coming in and there will still be thousands more sightings.
Or are we meant to believe that this is just one of a whole species of animal running wild from Peru all the way up to the US that no one has seen before?
'But what folks are calling a chupacabra is probably just a strange breed of dog, said veterinarian Travis Schaar of the Main Street Animal Hospital in nearby Victoria.
"I'm not going to tell you that's not a chupacabra. I just think in my opinion a chupacabra is a dog," said Schaar, who has seen Canion's find.'

To stay level-headed all that can be said about Ms Canion is that she probably has not see every type or breed of dog. But looking at the head that she is shown holding, I gotta tell you, I'm glad a vehicle took that sucker out as I would not want to meet it if it was roaming around. It IS a massive head. The fangs are visible and it isn't every day that you see dog's fangs. From the size of the head the body would have been possibly as large or larger than a Great Dane. It resembles a hyena. Having seen almost every sketch of the alleged chupacabra as reported by many, and they seem to match universally, this whatever-it-is is in my opinion not the chupacabra. Someone with experience in dog types should be able to identify this guy.

What the hell, nobody should believe that that's the chupacabra beast. That's the lamest excuse for a cryptid I've ever seen!

Clearly a dead dog.

Here is a photo of one of the animals that Ms Canion said: "I had seen one three or four times on our place, but it's very elusive. So, when I got the call that one had been killed, I got it and took it back to the house," Canion said. "It's a strange-looking animal. It has short front legs and longer back legs. The paws on the front are different than the ones on the back, and it has no hair. The nose is very long. The tip of the nose is longer than the lower jaw, and the front teeth stick out, almost like fangs. They are the ugliest things I have ever seen in my life."
If you are using Internet Explorer you should have a magnifier on the bottom right hand corner. Blow the picture up to 200X to examine the animal in great detail.

if its a chupacabra get an autopsy it should have several blood types in its system as it likes to suck blood

I think any autopsy would reveal the body to be a canine. If it is indeed the beast itself, I'll still doubt it.

It doesn't seem all too canine to me, aside from some passing resemblances.
My guess is it's either a mutation (taking in all the things off about it, this seems pretty unlikely), or, more probable, fake.

That poor beast. He never had a chance to run away from the old lady who killed and mutilated his body. That's my answer, the lady who found him mutilated its body to look like a creature, so she could be noticed for once in her life.

I see shes already started selling t-shirts to pull in some cash. I wouldn’t believe anything from a person who kills animals for fun and mounts their corpses to show them off. There won’t be a DNA test if she can help it, she’ll want to milk it for every penny first.
Poor dog.

The head looks like a Doberman and the back legs look like a whippet. The body looks bloated from decay. Besides the bloating and lack of hair that is exactly what this looks like a dobie/whippet mutt.

Yep. In fact, several of these exact 'cryptid' claims over the years have been proven through DNA testing to be just manged coyote. Of course, every few years someone kills or finds one and starts another 'chupa' claim. A simple Google search could save them(and us!) some time.

The roadkill was just some fox or dog with severe mange.........i would imagine the Chupacabra being a more sinister evil looking animal not a malnourished ugly dog.........
