A cat in Sydney's eastern suburbs was taken to a vet high on cocaine.

The eight-month-old Himalayan cat arrived at the Double Bay clinic on Monday morning with dilated pupils and a racing heart after being accidentally locked in a cupboard overnight.

It was having trouble walking, was easily startled, paced incessantly and was too anxious to have a thermometer inserted into its rectum.

When the vet phoned the owner's wife, she admitted the cat could have licked “plates of cocaine” which had been served at a dinner party two days earlier.

Poor cat, if you can't take of your pet then don't have it. It's funny though.... I can't imagine a high cat. laugh.gif

It's the only place to stick it, it would bite it in two if placed in its mouth laugh.gif

Seriously though, I hope the cat was okay, it was lucky it didn't have a heart attack.

The cat will want more coke after it comes down from the high.

Lucky cat in that he didn't go into cardiac arrest. I don't blame him for not wanting the thermometer.

Awww Poor little kitty. How does a cat get locked in a cupboard without anyone knowing? Wouldn't it be meowing really loud? hmm.gif

Who sticks a plate back in the cuboards without licking all the coke off it first? huh.gif Don,t these people know there are jonzzzzzing addicts out there? laugh.gif But seriously poor kitty! I hope she will be ok! yes.gif

damn that is bad first, that cat should be up for adoption, second the owners should be in jail for having cocaine in their house.

...first off I would like to clarify that I have never taken cocaine; I can't speak from experience, but I would hazard a guess that the cocaine had very little to do with the rectum related anxiety.

...that was my first thought anyway.

These folks have issues far greater than a tweaking kitty. Anytime you have plates of coke laying about in your home that you cat can even get to is demonstration enough that their lives jumped the rails some time ago.
