I had lived in a house for 4 years that was haunted. I have so many experiances, and sightings. This one was so scarey. I only seen the spirit twice but he played tricks on me for 4 years....one time I was laying in bed. I wasn't even close to falling asleep. The door was cracked open a little, so there was a little light in the room. My boyfriend at that time was making something in the kitchen. I felt the edge of my bed move down. I looked over and saw a fiqure of a man sitting on the edge of the bed! He was whispering something to me....it was really breathy. It is really hard to explain the sound......I started to scream. I almost passed out when I stood up. I felt so strange. My brother ran in the room too..(he was my room mate at the time) I told my boyfriend and my brother what happened and it totally freaked them out, because they knew things weird was happening in our house. The spirit was sitting right under the attic door that was in our room. We lived in an old house...really old.

Yeah I just seen it....that is so creepy. I never experianced a yellow eyed spirit though. Now that is creepy. Check out the ghost pic in that forum....isn't it creepy?

Yes i did it used to belong to a farmer their was a barn in the back it has the foundation still there but it was torn down.

Any other info in regards to who lived and died there. Check local historical societies and church records....

Interesting...However you're not the first to mention that someone or somethin sits on the bed besides you...I have heard it from other people too...Are u sure it wasn't your fantasy?When I was a kid for example I used to watch carefully the blanket,and after some seconds I had hallucinations that it was breathing...These things happen most of the time if you assist the situation...But you also saw a human figure...Can u describe it?

Read about the past history of your house that might give you some clues as to what happened

I also had an experience with a (see through...opesque) figure of a small creature or man.. sitting next to my bed... also speaking to me... very breathy.. like you described.
very scary.. and it was super strong.

I recommend you to investigate the history of the house throughly to see if there were any deaths in the house.

There are several threads of this nature going right now. It appears to be a common phenomena as well. I have experienced it myself (although I saw nothing). The sudden jostling of ones bed is fairly unmistakable. We are used to it from our childhoods as our parents would sit on our beds, and our siblings as well. It is a readily identifiable sensation. The only way I can see that someone could mistake this event, is if they are asleep and dream or imagine it. If one is awake, and even minutely alert, there is no mistaking someone sitting on your bed. ~Jackal

No it wasn't a fantasy.......my fantasies don't involve a ghost sitting on the edge of my bed. LOL. Yes I am aware that people have felt someone sitting on their bed when there wasn't. I was wide awake...just laying there. There were alot of other strange things that happened in my house where I USED to live. When this spirit was sitting there it freaked me out so bad when he started to talk....it was so breathy. Like whispery, airy, I can't explain.

Yes he was sitting on the bed kinda hunched over...looks like is hands was holded....like he was serious. He was looking at me first then toward the floor. He looked like a misty shadow. I know it sounds strange but it is hard to descibe. He was dark, but yet light enough to see in the dark. Does that make sense??....lol

Nope no odors...the spirit scared me but I didn't feel as if it was evil. I didn't feel sick neither just paralized at first, then freaked out..

I'm with ya Veliska. I know how that feels. Even if you are asleep, it doesn't register at first, because we are so used to the sensation. Then we suddenly realize we are alone. That's when the panick strikes your heart and you can't move for fear what ever is there will GET YOU! lol. Whenever this has happened to me, my back has been turned, or it was very dark. I've always wanted to see if the mattress actually indentates where the spectre sits. ~Jackal

Oh yeah I definatley panicked....I couldn't yell out at first. It seemed like forever!! But oh yeah I did yell out. When I yelled the spirit went away. There was definatley pressure there when I felt my bed move, that's why I turned over. I think I know what he was trying to say though. Ok this is a long story so get ready...lol. When I moved into this house strange things started to happen. Smoke alarms would go off by itself. All at the same time and they are battery operated. My brother heard a child in the kitchen one night while he was washing his dish. The chain on our fan would pull by itself turning our fan on and off. Well the man I was living with did something...well really wrong to my little girl. After he went to jail it stoped. When I saw the spirit the horriable thing happened the exact next week. It all started back when my fiancee moved in to my home at that time. ( A diffrent guy...not the bad one) This was a year later. The spirit would move the nightstand in front of our bedroom door when no one was in the room. I didn't think the spirit liked my fiancee in my bedroom. We had to push the door open really hard, because the nightstand was quite heavy. When my fiancee would argue with me I usually would walk away from him. ( I don't like arguing I walk away...lol) I always go into my bedroom. TWICE my fiancee had the door slamed in his face after I walked in the room...and guess what? I didn't slam the door! LOL

LOl, that's fine. No I wasn't even close to the door. Plus I really don't have much of a temper, so I am not really known for slamming doors. I just try to avoid fighting. I walk away from it. My fiancee is full blooded Irish and he has a bloody temper!

I am glad that I had read the post Veliska . One morning, I was sleeping in my uncle’s basement. This had happened sometime near before I was married. I was awakened by something pushing the bed down at my feet and sat beside me. I slowly turned over n’ thinking who it was. I expected someone to be there and nobody was. I went back to sleep because it was too early. I got up and had went upstairs. My uncle n cousins were having porridge, toast, and, what it appeared to me, as fried bacon fat(crackling). Not my choice of delicacy. I asked if anyone was downstairs that morning. They all looked at each other like they had some kind of secret. The family had lost a daughter/sister to drowning in the northern lakes of Saskatchewan. She was never found. Was it her? No,..maybe.,.I really don’t know, in because this family has a lot of stories/accounts about this house and their lives. Like this one story. I wish that he was here to tell his own account, will email, but here it is: One night, my cousin, Jerry, was all alone at home. Parents had gone to a bingo in town n’ the older siblings were out partying. Around 10:00 pm, he sees all the kitchen cupboards slamming open and shut, and the same time, something was running up the stairs and back down….do I believe him? Well, he believes it.
I have a question to all. Why do ghosts go near sleeping ppl? Is it the magnetic dipoles?

Becca yes my children actually claimed to see a male spitir...of course they say man....but they were not scared at all. Austin did experiance the nightstand moved in front of my bedroom door.....from the inside....which no one was there, plus lights shutting on and off...by the string on the celing fan...*shutters* I hated when that happened.

The same thing used to happen to the people in a dorm I lived in when I went to school in Boston. We were living in an old building that used to be a hotel during the 1800s and the students used to experience the same thing, feeling of someone sitting on your bed and other equally creepy things. It happened to me once, and I remember because I thought it was my roommate, and without opening my eyes asked her what she wanted. She answered from across the room, saying she didn't say anything. I opened my eyes and she was in bed on the other side of the room and it really scared both of us.
