Hey Everyone,

I just went to Crown Point on Lake Champlain this Labor Day weekend. I went camping for two nights. Had a lot of fun! It's a very historical area that includes Fort Frederic, Fort Ticonderoga, Penfield, Crown Point Memorial and the legend of Lake Champ. Champ is known as another supposed sea serpent that is a cousin to the infamous Nessie / Lochness Monster. I wanted to purposely visit this area because of it's historical areas and investigate Lake Champlain for it's hauntings as well as Champ himself.

Me and 2 other eye witnesses that were there might of had a Champ sighting!!!

It was 10:30pm at night on Saturday September 1st. We were standing on the shore line of the lake. I had my JVC Night Vision HD camera running but the lake was so dark you couldn't see the surface that well, but very little. We could see the surface with our own eyes fine, just not the camera. Time to get a better camera! LOL...

Anyway, I went and started chanting champs name. For the whole length of time we were there, the water was dead calm! I even threw a couple of rocks in and it hardly moved the water. Completely still the whole night! Even when boats drove by us, the water barely moved. I started chanting champs name more because nothing was really happening so I was getting disappointed. All of a sudden, huge amounts of tidal waves came to the shore line as if a huge boat was driving by. Yet, there were absolutely no boats around when this occured! I'm not talking about your ordinary tidal waves, these were huge!!! The whole night not one tidal wave happened until I started chanting his name!? The really weird part was... it stopped as soon all 3 of us ran up the stairs! We got scared a bit because we thought the water was going to rise above the shoreline we were standing on. Is that crazy or what!? Could of it been Champ swimming nearby creating these tidal waves to hit the shore line? Unfortunately it's not on video, but I have it documented on audio. I also have 2 other witnesses. That was totally strange. How can a completely dead calm lake change to huge amounts of tidal waves at the same time of me chanting champs name and then stop soon as we ran up the stairs? I tried thinking of every possible logical explanation. But nothing physical was on the lake to cause it. It also never occured again as we hung out at least an hour more purposely to see if it did it again. The lake remained calm ever since...

I wish I had my better camera with me!!!

*kicks myself in the ass!*

Can you draw us a picture of what you saw?
Pluto-x
I would if we saw something... but all we witnessed was the huge amounts of tidal waves. I just find it odd for a calm lake to create huge amounts of tidal waves without a trace of a boat driving by, or animal on the surface. I think it was just inches from the surface to cause those tidal waves. It's also strange for that to start as soon as I chanted his name, and then stop when we ran to the dock stair case.... and no other tidal waves occured for the rest of the time we spent there.

so.. champ use telekinetic to read your mind ? why you ran ? you called him! hmm.gif
maybe he want to show himself to all of you!

What are the depth changes around the area of the dock?

Maybe it doesn't like being called "Champ".

Got this from wikipedia...

A region of large freshwater lakes
Lake Champlain is one of a large number of large lakes spread in an arc from Labrador through the northern United States and into the Northwest Territories of Canada. Although it is much smaller than the Great Lakes of Ontario, Erie, Huron, Superior, or Michigan, Lake Champlain is a large body of fresh water. Approximately 1130 kmē (435 square miles) in area, the lake is about 180 km (110 miles) long, and 19 km (12 miles) across at its widest point. The maximum depth is about 400 feet. It contains about 80 islands, including an the entire country of Grand Isle County in Vermont.

I would say it was pretty deep where we were. There was a bridge at the beginning of Lake Champlain and ends in Vermont. It was a big bridge.

Hmm. Do you know the gradient at which the lake floor drops at that point? Because if there is a great drop right off the dock, I would be inclined to say that the waves were just travailing across the lake and then hit a shallow spot where they popped up as tidal waves.

I am not trying to discredit you. I just want to rule out every other possibility before we say it is a Champ sighting.

And you said the water barely moved. Does that mean glass smooth or waves no higher than a few inches?

Yes... the water was like glass. There were no waves occuring the whole time we were there. I believe the drop of depth is pretty close because of how short in depth the shore was. There wasn't much beach at all. Maybe 10 ft wide. Than the water was right there. I think you could tell the drop was right there because of the coloring of the water how it was very dark in some spots. I'm not a fisherman, but If I'm not mistaken... don't boats drive slow in shallow water so they do not drag on anything? The boats that were driving by us drove pretty fast. They didn't slow down at all. They also barely moved the water too when driving by. There was a huge difference of tidal waves vs what the boats made.

You prolly should have stuck around to see what came after the waves. Were you in an inlet or something, I've never seen a lake that's still as glass. At least not a very big one.

Wow, that must have been cool to be there.

Are you sure it was not a huge ocean liner, or 100 raceboats at once? or maybe it was a whale!, or a group of dolphins. Freshwater, dolphins. =)
Pluto-x
Yep... it was still as glass. There were no boats when the tidal waves occured. We did stick around after the tidal waves occured for at least an hour or so. We hung around the dock staircase after it happened. I mean, how strange that huge amounts of tidal waves occur soon as I chant Champ, then stop once we stepped foot on the dock staircase? Then it never happened again. Whatever it was, it caused huge amounts of tidal waves. Something BIG caused them. There were no boats!

Hmm, well you eliminated what I thought it could possibly be.

I'm starting to think that Champ is a bit more realistic than Lochness / Nessie. There seems to be more sightings of Champ than Nessie. There is also much more hard evidence on Champ. When I visited the Champ Museum / Store in Crown Point, they had News Paper clippings of some great photos. They even have a supposed video of it. I don't know where to find it though.
