Now adays one can not help but feel a since of urgency, incompletion and anxiuosness. I wonder could that be because we have gotten so far from Mother Earth (or who have you) and when I say so far I mean spiritually, i believe we have a direct connection with the place we call Earth but for what what ever reason we are distracted and unlearned and can not "tap" into it. What are some of your thoughts on this subject.

I wouldn't call it spiritual, but I definitely think our connection to the Earth has been severed. Most animals can tell when natural disasters are about to occur, but we can't. Maybe it's something as simple as we miss signs with are obvious to most other creatures.

I think it's really the money religion that is the absolute killer. People are turning into absolute money zombies, and when time is money there's very little left over of these people but bleedin' graveyards walkin' around on two legs sucking all the life force out of everyone else they meet. People haven't even got the time for each other anymore, never mind spirituality, the earth or anything else.

i would put it down to the overwhelming media coverage and non stop fear tactics they all peddle.
its non stop, there is no shortage of reasons (according to the idiot box) to be feeling a "since of urgency, incompletion and anxiousness"
nothing spiritual, that and sex are the 2 best marketing tactics, simple.

Like it or not, you need money to survive in our world. The days of just retreating into the mountains and living off the land are long gone (no "Jerimiah Johnson" anymore). And money is one way people measure how well they are doing relative to others in their community.
I agree that people who work 80+ hrs/wk for the extra dollar are probably going to regret it later but then again as the playwrite said "It's no shame being poor, but it's no great honor either!"

True, but a little exaggeration never does any harm, eh

Yes we have been distracted and unlearned for a very long time.
As I see it the only way to change the collective view is to start by changing your own view.
Any real improvement with a person's inner connectiveness will result in a better overall connection with earth and all of its inhabitents.

I understand what you're saying. I still feel a little bit of a connection I suppose. I know exactly when autumn is coming. I can just feel it. Sadly I guess that is the only connection I have.
I think stupid little influences have severed that closeness with our planet. If everyone would just take one day, go outside, and just enjoy the world around them, we would be in a better state of mind all around.

The Earth is my Mother, she sustains me with her abundance.
Without her I have no breath, no blood, no body, and no spirit.
I am a child of the Earth.
The Universe is my Father, he seeded my Mother with the stars,
Without him I have no breath, no blood, no body, and no spirit.
I am a child of the Universe.
