I'm on a semi-roll today original.gif Although I already had this idea in my head. Warning**: If you like cute little bunnies then I warn you now....don't read the poem. Or if you don't mind a bloody bunny...go ahead and read it.

I watched this natural thing
All with a smile;
A fox preying upon a rabbit,
White and matted fur it had
Stalking its own food in the bushels.
The fox lay waiting for many moments,
Filling the rabbit with bliss.
Awaiting a cage to unfurl
To trap the white rabbit.
With a sudden jolt,
Before the blink of an eye could end
The fox darted towards the rabbit,
Ceasing its neck behind its ears;
With teeth gripping the writhing meat
the orange beast fought the struggle,
leaving a bloody mess upon the bushel.
Moments slowly went down to dusk
As the rabbit, again filled with bliss.
A cycle it is, O' I see it now!
The beauty I cannot describe,
as I watched the arrogant fox stride upon
the bloody mess.
The moon soon rose and lit the blood;
the light morphed the red to black
And so the fox took his stride again
to his merry home.
Carrying food in mouth,
A succulent meat that shall feed his home
for many minutes.
I know I'll see this sight again,
But perhaps this time I shall
place the rabbit in its cage and see
the beast--confound by hunger,
Simply walk away.
The pride does not come from eating the prey,
but rather preying upon the food;
Wondering why it is you stalk that creature so,
That creature hiding in the darkness;
Awaiting its fate whether it be the grips of teeth,
the grasp of death, or the cold hands of past.
So the dawn sky soon took rise,
Hues of blue and purple.
Slight rain had washed the blood away,
And there I see--a fox stalking its bushel prey.

Very unique perspective for this piece, definitely different from anything I've read. The play-by-play is well described and puts you in the moment, you seem to have a knack for this. Great!
