It looks like very similar to chupacabra? It also says in the descriptions of the creature(s) that looks reptilian, has red glowing eyes, leathery skin and it's very fast, running at 40 mph. All this was used to describe chupacabra too, so could be some connection here? Or are we talking about the same creature? Hmm, very interesting.

Here is a website with detail and a picture. As for my opinion about the Loveland Frogmen... I don't think they were any way related to el Chupacabra. I think they might have been a alien life form because that was the first and last time they were seen. A real cryptid would have been in the legends of the natives.
capoeiranger
Yeah, this cryptid is a one-hit-wonder. I suppose it's actually fit in alien/UFO sightings.

The natives called it "Shawnahooc." But the funny thing is that I could find no website that didn't reference this legend when talking about the Loveland Frogmen. Could some possibly give us an actual reference to the legend that is pre-1955.

the link doesn't work.
SOUL-DRIFTER
I would say that this one is not a true Cryptid.
I would estimate that they were visitors from afar.
Could be that their world, is a world of much more water than ours.
Their path of evolution gave them an appearance that is frog-like.
