Just thought I'd inform all the skint students that the day we were all waiting for has arrived early.Yes our student loans have been paid into the bank. Go on everyone let's start blowing it right away.

Us poor Brits have to pay for our own education, therefore you are granted a thrice yearly student loan, which only has to be paid back once you have a job that earns over £14,000 a year.
By the end of university the said student is usually about £12,000 in debt after having spent three to four years pissing the student loan proceeds up the wall. (Getting drunk in Pubs!)

Us poor US ppl do too - I'd like to default on mine if it wouldn't ruin my credit - especially the ones that I recieved from the school! Worthless place!

Nope!
It ALL went to food and the landlord....
It seems you Scottish students get all the luck! You first don’t have to pay any tuition fees as such each year, and your loans arrive earlier too! My loan doesn’t arrive until Jan 12th, so looks like I’m counting the pennies till then.

Actually I think that’s been reduced to £10,000/year.

Eleven years after my last exam, the Oxford Road Corridor pubs around Manchester University are still flushing the remnants of my pissed proceeds away! Now it's the work proceeds that join them!
Very glad mto hear it. Whats the point in bein a student if ye dont get to enjoy yer loan in such a manner that its almost impossible to concentrate on yer course.
