Not sure if this is the place for it, but this is where it's going! LOL

Have many of you joined this thing? Have you really looked around it? I joined up because my nieces invited me. And I was contacted by some schoolmates that I hadn't heard of in ages. What I found funny was that when I looked up their friends, I found people in there who they wouldn't have talked to in school. Do they have selective memories or what? Is nastalgia really that strong? How about members of UM, would you just let bygones be bygones, or would you even want contact with people who had made your everyday in highschool hell?

I did this awhile back, but not with the same site...I was contacted by past classmates up the ying yang...Most of them I didn't associate with so my contact with them was short...I had been friends with quite a few, and did hear from them, which was fun, and it was great bringing up old times...So I would say nostalgia does play a big part of it...After so many years of being out of school, I really didn't have anything in common with them, except past memories...Our lives have so changed...I figured it was nice for awhile but you can't go back...I don't know about letting bygones be bygones...I hold a grudge forever..

I am so glad you said that! I was feeling bad that I had hard feelings for some people still, after all these years. But, relaly when we are teens we are so vulnerable and so easily hurt, those fellings and lessons stay with us for the rest of our lives.

I think we just get tougher and analyze people in a different way when we get older...In high school, you want to be popular, hang out with the "in" kids and so on..Let's face it kids can be cruel, but I know as I got older I saw people in a different light...I pretty much see good in everyone, but don't push me against a wall.. Then the Italian comes out in me, and the grudge goes on...Hey glorybebe, this is a great thread...I almost didn't see it, maybe the mods could move it to off topic's...It would be interesting to see other members opinions...Don't mean to be forward, if I am, sorry.....goalie

You're not forward at all, I was really torn where to put it. But then, I am lazy and just keep hitting view new posts to view what everyone is writing about.

I am not Italian, but I keep grudges. It must be the Scottish in me, LOL.

Hey, i joined facebook, cause my sister was on it, and it was a cool way for us to stay in touch...since then, i met a family member that i wasnt even aware i had...he contacted me from Canada, it was pretty cool cause he was after information about the family which my side of the family had, and he managed to get in touch with people he had lost touch with...people who were friends with my brother have also got in touch, so i have served as the reunited for his old buddies too...i have a few of my old friends there...i have also been contacted by people who i disliked in school...one girl in particular, who was very full of herself and loved to put me down added me as a friend...at first i thought...F888 off luv i aint interested...but after her spending a couple of months in my invite list i thought yeah, i aint arsed, was years ago, i have little care who you are now, hope you had a nice life, and i added her, told her she had a cute baby and thats it...its only cyberspace

Oh yeah, i love all the zombie stuff and novelties there aswell, they are cool

I,ve heard of it but i havn,t been curious enough to check it out. I really don,t have many horrible memmories from high school, but then i wasn,t there that long either! And while i was i hung around with the trouble makers and skipped most days, and i got kicked out of 3 high schools in one year yeah i guess i was a bit of a handfull at times! But i got along with mostly all the kids,even those that would today be called nerds and jocks. But even though i hung with the "bad" crowd i was really a very mellow, friendly person and i didn,t pick on anyone but my friends when we had an argument, and i can,t hold a grudge for long! Although if i was pushed to anger i could blow up pretty good in the momment! A couple of my friends back then stayed my friends pretty much through my life, and we still are friends but everyone got married or shacked up and moved away. I,m curious about a few others but i,m sure after we would relive old times there wouldn,t be much else we would have in common. And some memmories are best left in the past, though i,m still mellow and friendly my party days are way over, which concidering how many times i should be dead is a good thing! I can understand some people wanting to look up old friends out of curiousity, but to have just everyone suddenly contacting me would be a bit to much! And i can understand those who wouldn,t want to go back and know about anyone, some kids got treated really cruel! Mabey some day i,ll check it out, but for now i,m quite content to leave it all behinde me and just remember!

What's really funny is that after I started this topic, the one person I had in mind invited me to be ehr friend. LOL, so I took into consideration what some posts said and I said yes...I must be getting milder or else just very curious! LOL. But, it is really cool how easily you can stay in toucha nd find people you had always wondered about. You can also see where your exes are without them knowing you looked them up...not that I would do that of course .

And nn23, that is cool about the long lost relative! My uncle was a well, how do you put it-**** when he was younger and I know I have at least two cousins who just found out who there dad was in the last 10 years. So, you never know who I could end up meeting.

o.k., now that you guys (figuratively speaking ) have piqued my interest, I'm going over to see what this is about...I hope I don't run into anyone I still have a grudge with....
