if you where from a race that was millions of years ahead of us in technology how would you react if you came across our little planet and it,s backwater technology would make contact observe help ? or would you experiment on them wondering what every one thinks

If I was that race, I'd probably think we were cute and kinda funny looking, but I'd probably want to experiment on us to see what we were all about.
I would make contact - but with a huge gun behind my back - just in case the locals were hostile, and I would want to study their behaviours and their technology.
Similarly, I reckon if we ever found life on another planet and it was behind us intelectually and technologically, we'd experiment, observe them and make contact with them to see what they were all about.
I would take one female, marry her, and show her the stars, and make her live 5000 years, and 6000 more

Because cockroaches have been alongside all along.
However, if you discovered a new species, wouldn't that be a whole new concept.
We don't study cockroaches any more because we already know all about them.

yes but your implying that we are worth studying.
Just because we place great value in our own existence, doesn't mean another species has to.
We can plead to them that we are concious beings that deserve preaise and respect, but how do we know that the species we ignore evry day don't do the same to us?

Mmm good point, a little conceited of me I guess to think that advanced races/species would find us of any interest... but if I was the advanced race and found 'us' I'd want to have a good look at us to see what we were all about.

You know, I've never even seen a cockroach, I don't think we have 'em in the UK?
If they would have stumbled with other races with similar technology as ours I bet they would just say, "been there, done that". But if they see something new, something original, something unique, they would study it.
If they would feel really lonely in the universe then they would make contact, but if not, then why bother?
