Dying Seraph
I know I'm in the minority but I was hoping maybe there was another Philadelpia Eagles fan in here. I am dissapointed and upset at why they got rid of one of the best linebackers in the sport today. I am reffering to Jeremiah Trotter. But not just him. We got rid of Dante Stallworth and Jeff Garcia. What the hell!?! All 3 are excellent. Especially Jeremiah Trotter who still had 5 years on his contract. Does someone here know something that I don't help me please? I am confused.

And what is the deal w/ the Eagles new Special Teams coordinater. I'm no S.P. coordinater but it doesn't take a genius to know that Greg Lewis is a dreadful kick returner. Then again. Right now the special teams is in shambles.

I heard, through different media outlets and so-called "insiders", that The Eagles thought that Trotter had lost a step and his criticisim of the coaches(Andy Reid and Jim Johnson) diddn't help his cause. With regards to Stallworth, I think The Eagles decided that the "market value" for a receiver that had been so oft-injured like Stallworth was just too high, so they decided to go in a different direction. Garcia was 37 years old and looking for starters money, you couldn't possibly pay McNabb, Feeley, Garcia, and draft a QB early in the first day of the draft(rounds 1-3) there just wouldn't be enough money to go around, not to mention FOOTBALLS to go around when training camp rolled-around. Somebody had to go, and McNabb was the starter, Feeley the backup, and whomever you draft is the 3rd string developmental guy......Garcia was the odd-man out and he knew it, he's been in pro football too long NOT to see the writing on the wall.

I still think The Eagles will be a good solid team, and I have them picked to finish second in that division(9-7) behind Dallas and ahead of The Giants.

Thanks Onyx. You're absloutely right about getting rid of Garcia. Plus I guess it's better this way, now that he gets to get more play w/ Tampa since "Cadillac" is injured. And they will consider how well he threw last year. As for Stallworth, yeah he got injured often but thats because a few if the other recievers had a hard time doing there job last season (I won't point fingers since I'm definately not a pro football player). But I'll agree w/ you that he gets injured alot and that is a huge flaw. As for Trotter, Yeah he said some things that were not to bright but look at the NFL as a whole. There's alot more idiots out there saying worse. I heard recently that he was traded because the Eagles had a younger talent that they wanted to develope to take Trotters place. Rather than have Trotter sit on the sidleine they traded him to Tampa so he could remain a starter. Whatever the reason. I'm gonna miss Trotter in an Eagles jersey and his presence on there defense.
mad.gif I hate the Cowboy's. Even though they are looking better at the moment I hope that the Eagles take them out. As for New York, they are lost right now. Eli being injured and Barber gone, and you can see the frustration already building on Shockey. But I really think that Washington will give the Eagles a serious fight.
