ok, so our brains record events, and store them within (our brains), yet when astral projection occurs (if it does), we can both see and remember afterwards, surely this means that the whole process only goes on inside our mind?

How can you be sure?

To astral project you must develop your astral body. Most dont have to but thats what you travel in. Remember life is concious. Protiens and fats are just there vessels like they are yours.
Well if you beilieve in that sorta stuff, you dont have to you know.

thats why i posted, just something that popped in my head through sleep depravation......

I think I understand what the OP is saying. I was actually talking about this with my bf the other night. I was talking about it in the event of an OBE which was: when a person has an OBE and floats up and out of their body - I am assuming that is the persons 'spirit' or 'soul' that has risen and if that is the case then technically doesn't that mean it is basically just energy? The 'soul' doesn't have a brain, eyes, nose, mouth, etc(does it?) so how can a person who has an OBE see their surroundings, hear things going on in the other room, process information and later once back in the body recall the experience?

If our brain records events and stores them within - why does that make astral projection inside our mind only? If, as you believe, we can both see and remember afterwards, surely this is our brain recording events and storing them within.

I am a little confused also, but my take on it is that astral connection is both a product of the organic brain, through part of the process I call self aware consciousness, but it is also a product of our brains/consciousnesses ability to interact with other elements of our universe, as a form of energy and a level of matter, which at present we are not really aware of, let alone understand.

In a way, our brain/ consciousness is a tv transmitter and reciever among other things. It can both broadcast and recieve energy in the form of waves and particles. I do not have the scientific background to explain this more clearly, but such a theory would explain every thing from telekinsesis, through esp, to astral travel. Some times i pick up knowledge through some form of esp, at other times through astral travel. This knowledge/ information can come from the past, present or future, which also indicates an ability for such energy to exist either outside of, or throughout, our linear time frame.

In short, while this transmission of energy/matter/information must be going on continuosly throughout our known"universe", once our organic brain dies or becomes completely "unconscious" it is like turning off our personal reciever/transmitter. For us as an individual the universe ceases to exist. Both the physical and the meta physical aspects of it.
