Hi all,
I was having a discussion at work about various Unexplained Mysteries and this question came up, so I thought I'd ask you the same question.
If you could prove, without doubt, ONE Unexplained Mystery, what would it be.
My answer is, I would like to prove the existence of the Loch Ness Monster, and this is based purely on old childhood memories of me and my dad sitting by the Loch, waiting for Nessie to make an appearance. Happy Days! So I'd love to be able to prove, without doubt, that Nessie exists, and prove what she is.
The proof you would have to give would have to be irrefutable, with as much proof as necessary to make everyone not just believe in the mystery but KNOW that it is true.
Anyone else like to share?

That God doesn't exist. I know that religious people still wouldn't listen and then there'd probably be more wars, but at least, assuming there isn't a God, then they wouldn't be wasting their time and money anymore.

I would love to prove that fairies exist. I am not looking forward to telling my daughter that there is no Tooth Fairy and Santa. I put down some silver powdery makeup so that she can find pixie dust. Then she finds a little peice of jewelry that the Tooth Fairy makes especially for her since candy rots teeth and that is what she would buy with money.

Four? I would be absolutely dreading that! I remember when my brother told me, he did it just to be mean, and I was bawling, my mom wondered what was happening, so I told her. Instead of denying it, my very caring mother said :"Oh, for cripe's sakes! I didn't want her to know that for a couple of years yet!" and then she cuffed my brother...that is a memory that is totally stuck in my head. Now I find it hilarious, but back then the magic was leeched from my world.

That I am G-ds gift to women! No, not really. I'd end up getting sore after a while. I don't know. Probably that aliens are real. I don't so much care if they are coming here or not, just that they are there. Then maybe, we could work of proving that they taste like chicken. Hell, everything else does, right?
If not aliens, then I'd have to say ghosts. It would be really nice to know for sure that when you kick the bucket, you still exist. It would be pretty comforting to talk to your long gone loved ones too. Dont get me wrong here. I do believe in G-d and an after life but, that is based on faith, not cold, hard facts. Besides, maybe the ghosts of my ancesters could answer that burning question I have about what aliens taste like without me starting an interstellar war.

Hey, reincarnation would be pretty cool too! On the other hand, wouldn't we run out of souls? Unless one soul could inhabit multiple forms at the same time. But, then, that would also prove a form of time travel....
Just imagine, if there were only say two souls and they had to inhabit every human ever. The kid you picked on in school would've have been you. Your spouse is you on a different rotation. What if there was only one soul? All the worlds a stage and I am talkign to myself!

Ahhh, proving a great unexplained mystery.....
I would like to prove that there is at least one human male speciman that doesn't cheat, cares about his mate's feelings, works, has no addictions and still likes to have fun. I'm having no luck whatsoever after a 17 years of tedious, hands on, field research.
I love cryptozoology, but after repeated false sightings and numerous specimens thrown back to the wild, I'm beginning to lose hope that they exist. If anyone out there has a speciman that fits these criteria, I'd love to see your proof. I think finding one could have a great impact on society as they could possibly be cloned and/or genetically modified to enhance these qualities.

I'd like to prove that evil isn't an entity. It's not some outside influence making people do bad things, or infecting people. Not only would this stop the mistreatment of people who are supposedly 'possessed' by evil, it would also wake people up to human nature and that WE are the reason good and bad is done in the world, not some supernatural entity.
