what's up. this question if for hindus or anybody else who knows the ansewer. in the topics about religion every once and a while i will see krishna thrown in with others such as jesus, buddha, and muhammid. basicly my question is who is krishna, what did he do, and was he a real person or just a metaphorical person because i get confused alot but the hindu gods and what not. but the way krishna is talked about it sounds as if he was an actuall person. to better word my question do hindus consider him real because i know there will be atheist coming in here talking about no religion is real and so on. that's all i wanted to know then i'll let this thread sink into the nowheres.

My parents are hindu, but I only have a very basic overview of it...but all you need to know is...it dosn't matter...just as it dosn't matter if Jesus was really the son of god...its not the source of the message, its the MESSAGE.

Who knows, not enough evidence to say one way or the other, Krishna like Buddha is considered to be an Avatar of Vishnu

Trying to recall, I did read some scripture (Bhagavad Gita) long ago. I think the writings are about Arjuna on the eve of a great battle. As far as I know there are supposed to be historical people.
I recall it was the hardest thing to read (partially due to translation)
I made a few Hare Krishna friends back then, they made some great vegetarian dishes (excellent recipe gift books too)
They are very spiritual people.

Well he was certainly as real as Draupadi.

I would say he most likely was a real person, but it is had to say for sure. We don't know for Jesus was real or not. If you believe whay you read in The Bhagavad Gita
then he is real, if you don't then he is not.

In my belief system a real person can be come a God. It is kind of the whole point, but I am not a Hindu. I know we have Hindus who come on the site who could answer this.
