Heres a question; Why do we follow and bow our heads to time? Who was the crazy one who decided to measure time and put numbers on a circular plate?
Would "No Time" be disastrous to our overall world economy? Why must we be so dependant on time?
Wouldnt the world work better if we took our own "time" to do things, rather than everything based on a certain time?
Our very lives are forced to obey time - from work, to sleep, to eating. What is the all the fusss?
This very question, derived from the search for freedom and peace in my own mind, has taken over my very thoughts on what i do, and i need some views on this subject. I am sure more than just me have thought about this.
Thanks guys.

hmmm.....
If we're not forced by time, the human development will progress very slowly...... but... I guess that's not a bad thing afterall.... hmmm....
yeah.... I wish I have a relaxing life without being chased by time and deadlines ..

you, of course, tried to imagine life without measuring time. it still...returns to a time measuring. again.
Why you can't live in your own time, is because you have to interact with others. That's why we all have to make some kind of agreement, otherwise we won't find each other, won't meet each other, figuratively speaking

We need time. We need it to make arrangements with other people, etc. Without time, everything would be so unorganised. It wouldn't work at all. Things like work and school couldn't happen without time. Heck, if it wasen't for time we'd be living in our own little worlds, rarely interacting with other people.

I agree with you egyptian, i have found time for me to be a distraction i would love to live my life much more simpler. I guess when you have a family and many friends and a busy life that requires you to make deadlines then time must be present. Although i have alot of space and no children. I know that i was not meant to have children. It makes it easier for a person that doesnt have any strings atached so to speak to just BE. and not let time control them.
I to believe time causes alot of chaos in the world today. Now think about this when we have commitments that need to be done at a certain time, we rush get stressed out and we try to get to where ever we are going as fast as we can. It impairs our judgement, people get into car accidents all the time because of these things, people have heart attacks because time stresses them out. There are many other aspects about time that are bad but also you need to look at the good aspects of time and there are many good aspects even if its hard to see.
But i guess the individual has to make the decision whether or not time is limiting your spiritual growth. It's kind of funny that i came across this topic, the other day i kept looking up at the clock constantly, i thought to myself why am i looking at the time i dont need to be anywhere or do anything. So what i decided to do was cover up the time on my cable box and on my computer. This way i wouldn't know the time and i would be able to calmly do things at a slow pace. One more example that time limits my potential, is its always been hard for me to read for a long time because i am so impatient. I think about the time even when i read and this is when i give up, and the book never gets read. Believe me time for me is a bad thing.
Another thought came to mind, what if no one came up with measuring time. How could we miss something that was never there?
Thank you egyptian for posting this topic i knew other people had the same ideas about time i just have not come across any up to this point in my life.
Have a great day/night...

WHAT YOU ARE SAYING ABOUT TIME APPLIES TO ALMOST EVERYTHING ELSE AS WELL, WHY MUST WE SPEAK ENGLISH OR WHATEVER LANGUAGE WE SPEAK? WHY NOT MAKE UP OUR OWN LANGUAGE? WHY COUNT 12 MONTHS IN A YEAR OR 7 DAYS IN A WEEK? THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN DONE IN ORDER TO IMPROVE OUR LIFE, IF WE DIDNT HAVE TIME, AS MENTIONED ABOVE, LIFE WOULD BE A LOT LESS ORGANIZED, BUT THERES A LOT OF PEOPLE OUT THERE WHO WANT TO DISAGREE WITH EVERY ASPECT OF SOCIETY BECAUSE THEY THINK OF THEMSELVES AS "FREE SPIRITS"(EVEN IF IT MAKES LIFE HARDER) SO IF YOURE ONE OF THEM HELL THROW TIME AWAY AND EVERYTHING ELSE TOO, TELL ME HOW IT GOES OK?

days and seasons happen if people are around to notice them or not, so the basics of time is a natural occurrence... IMO

Time is in truth a man-made untensil. However every living
thing has something called an "internal-clock". Try this experiment
I have done this before, and don't use clocks too often now.
I wake up instantly evey morning at 7 (no alarm clock)
when 12 rolls around (without looking at a clock) I know it's
time to eat. At 10 I know it's time for sleep. I can also choose
to wake myself up at a certain time. Time in it's self is NOT man
made only the measurement of time that we use is. Every living
thing on this planet knows what time it is, but we as a species have
chosen to make things alittle easier on us and use a untensil.

Humans weren't the first ones who measured time in a circular plate, our own body itself has a biological clock wich decides and adapts to what time we should eat, sleep, ect.......
Our own biological clock puts order in our lives, and of course humans have learned to put even more order measuring it themeselfs.

People use the word 'time' to refer to time itself as well as the measurement of time. It causes a lot of confusion in threads like this.

But listen to this, we have a biological clock because we are adapted to doing the same thing for all of our lives because we were born into a time generation. What if, say we didnt have order on when we ate, slept, etc.
Like me - i have had weird shifts thus im not accustomed to time.

Our primary "biological clock" is a mechanism called the "circadian rhythm." It is not a habit; it is an evolved (or God-created, as your bent may be) characteristic of mammals and many other types of creatures. It is there to help us stay alive and healthy because of the passage of time. Note also that the menstrual cycle is periodic, and this certainly can't be said to be habitual!

well, this is just coming from me, but whatever. Think about it. If we had no time restraints, things might speed up, becuase when we have a deadline, we tend to procrastinate. But with the whole deadline thing, if someone threw a huge commitment at us, such as a presentation, and said, "Get this done when you can," do you really think people would jump to get it done? Maybe, if it was something they felt passionately about. But if the person wasn't passionate about something, then they wouldn't be likely to do it, which could hurt the company's economy by losing a big deal, or the grade at school. So we continually restrain ourselves to time, and continually complain about how there isn't enough of it, but if you think about it, there's all the time in the world.

We could also see time.. as the heartbeat of nature.....as a continuation... of the rhythm of life....
Could you imagine music without timing????
We need 'time' to make sense of our lives... to add continuum to past ... present... future....
We use time to set goals...
it gives us direction... it spurs us on...it gives value to life...
How often have we heard the words...' time is precious'
often... our stress is, that we do not seem to have enough time....
It is a marker...
When there seems to be too much time... boredom... it makes us aware that we could ... should .. be doing something else with our time...
time.. life... go hand in hand...

We were born into a world where there are many dimensions, and time is said to be the 4th dimension. We can see tangible objects in 3 dimensions, but when you want to think of something in a different period of time, that is said to be the 4th dimension. The 4th dimension is said to encompass all 3 dimensions, so time is something that cannot be ignored. You may neglect "time" as your preference but it is always there. You need this dimension to be able to think about what is going to happen in the future. For example you may think of what you might look like in the future, but it takes time to reach there. I suppose someone has thought about this a long time ago, and decided that time should be measurable. To understand dimensions, you may want to watch this video about the ten dimensions
HERE.
It is known that thousand of years BC the Chinese were the first to think of a measurand for time using water that dripped into a bucket, and when it was full, that measured as 1 hour. And for some trivia, that is where the word 水準 (shui zhun, shui=water, zhun=accurate, shui zhun=standard/level) came from, as in someone who finished the work with good "standards", because there was a guy who would change the bucket every hour when it was full and needed to do it with a good standard otherwise time would be miscalculated.
Thank you for reading,

Time is completely neccesary, without time we couldnt measure anything.. Time and Space are 2 things that are inevitable and will exist forever, at least on this layer of reality, it also is used so that we can make things certain and for organization, how would buisnesses run if there was no time? how would we know when to be places, how long something is needed to cook, how long untill a certain time, the list goes on almost forever, Time isnt something that can just be forgotten or unused, its a common factor for everything..

THE FAMOUS SPACE-TIME CONNECTION
The four-dimensional continuum in which all objects are located and all events occur, viewed as a single and continuous framework for existence. Space-time consists of length, width, depth, and Time . Sounds weird , ha ?
Well, what does this "scientific" definition really mean?
Where is HERE ? According to YOU
Where is THERE ?According to the OTHER?
Does the PRESENT exist ?
Are we living in somebody's past ?
Are we living in somebody's future ?
Is my future your past ?
Are you aware of " NOW " ?
Is there a " NOW " ?
The truth is , Time –Space connection has only one access key :
EVENTS
It's an EVENT ( when something HAPPENS somewhere at a certain moment ) that MATTERS.
It gives us a definition of time and space .
Can you imagine a place , where NOTHING EVER HAPPENED ?
Worse , Can you imagine a place , where Nothing WILL EVER HAPPEN ?
WELCOME TO THE TIME-SPACE CONTINUUM !

Wrong, Egyptian. Your body still follows the biological clock that every human has internally. Waking and sleeping times can be easily changed. It's less voluntary tasks that your body will do on it's own schedule. Women are pregnant for about 9 months, unless there is a complication of course. Your heart even keeps it's own rhythm. Your body ages, which would not be possible without time. There are stages in life that you can't control, from development in infant stages, to puberty to death. It is on a clock.
What you are confusing is society's measurement of time. You don't want to have to be somewhere at a certain time, or have to get up early in the morning for work, or what have you, even though most of the world works this way, so you are questioning the rules we have based on the measurement of time. Time is not the same as the measurement of time. Time is not man-made. Time was here way before we were, and us being biological beings, we are based on time. Us being social beings, we are based on time measurement.

Time is subject to the physical body, as we all grow older. But our inner being we call (Soul/Spirit/Essence) is not subject to time. We are beings from the creator (GOD). Our main goal in life is to gather knowledge of our selves our inner being. and this is not subject to time. We are all moving forward through time> Our inner being is moving upward along a ladder moving to different levels of conciousness, while time is fluttering by, it has no effect on our being just our physical body. When we learn to stop identifying our lives and everything in them with time. We reach a different level of conciousness. The events that happen to us through out our lives, Going to a baseball game, watching tv or horror movies doing things around the house. Sometimes we get impatient we want to get the house clean as fast as we can, your teams winning and you cannot wait for them to get the last out, your television show has just been shut off do to power loss from a thunderstorm, and we get upset not knowing what happened in the show, and also when our lights dont get turned back on right away we beggin to blame the power company. these are just a few examples i can think of off. if we learn to slow down examine the situation and understand that life is flowing by and we are missing the benefits of what these situations are telling us. The population of people seem to think that external events that each one of goes through is living life, but it really isnt when we see and learn our own inner essence and learn to live moment to moment (without the limitations of time from the past and present) We find our true selves and begin to understand ourselves, otheres the world, the universal laws, and understand life and death) But i believe for me that time put to ashes so my true self will emenate GOD perfection.
Have a great day/night...

Time, whether it is measured or not, exists and to not measure it just so you can have peace of mind is a ridiculous statement. Overthinking doesn't suit anyone, and time will always be recorded one way or another, so move on to a subject worth using bandwidth on...just a suggestion.

Try this experiment.
Plant your crops in winter.
Try and harvest them in Autumn.
Then tell me that time is unimportant, or somehow an abstract 'human' construct.
Of course, I'll need a Ouija board to communicate with you, 'cos you will have died of starvation.

You need time for structure.
If everyone was on their own time, nothing would get accomplished. You'd have no food to eat, no cars to drive, no internet,no clothes, no place to live. It would just be a huge mess and it would be pointless. Whoever decided to have a concept of time was brilliant and was probably sick of how things were developing. So I am assuming that you could no function without all thoes I have stated. Well thats why there's time. There are a variety of jobs out there so you can work at any hour around the clock, so you actually are on your own time. Sleep when you want. Eat when you want. It's your lifestyle that is the basis of all this ... most days I pay no attention to time, so I am not "controlled" as such by it.
Either way ... if everyone did their own thing on their own time there would be nothing but chaos, pointlessness, and defintely no society ... eventually leading to the downfall of people I would assume.
No one is forcing you to obey time or whatever so just do what you want to do and bascially stop compaining about it. 6 billion complaints would be a lot to have to listen to don't ya think?

Hmm Food for thought..
The replys were very enlightening and some very blunt.
I know life is beautiful so i wish you all the best.
Time is a touchy subject some people think time holds them back others believe time to be neccesary for progression and what not.
Maybe im the one thats lost and cant figure the true meaning of life or maybe not?
Maybe it really doesnt matter whether we believe time is relevant or not.
Theres a much higher purpose for each one of us!
If i had a choice to live far away from city life without all the luxuries.
I think i would learn alot more about myself.
But what i have noticed is this world is a psychological playground.
We are subjected to influences from others and of course society portraying women and letting everyone believe its okay.
The more i look at it this world seems to be getting worse.
I believe people are forgetting about their spiritual side.
If you think im complaining im not but i see a much better life without all the luxuries, money, fancy houses, etc.
If time has brought us to this point in time. Then time to me seems absolutly horrific.
I know time will never stop and people will never stop measuring time, but im sure there are some who feel trapped by time or feel free from times grip..
If i came off as complaining i appologize to you all.
All i am doing is giving my opinion on things i dont claim to know much, but i do know how i feel.
Have a great day/night...
