Basicly, i just moved from portland,OR to columbus,OH and well....My face has been breaking out LIKE NO OTHER,ive been here for about a month and at first it was the new shaving cream i used but that was awhile ago, And my face is STILL going crazy,i have read all that internet self remedy BS and well some of it just seems absurd,so i dont belong really to any other message board and i thought i might give it a try to ask you guys.....

Now basicly,it gets worse when i DONT shave, but still gets irritated when i do shave. Now its not like my face is COVERED in it or anything, its just a few little ones that get super red on my cheecks, upper lip, chin etc so,my forehead is basicly clear so im thinkin maybe it has somthing to do with shaving?(im using the barbasol aloe vera stuff and good razors)

I know this is an extremely random topic and everyones skin is different but anything you have come across to lower redness or acne at all, please let me know,Does advil help with redness and inflamation?

thanks guys!

Hi mate, in 2003 i start to break out in spots, at first i didnt do anything to try and cure it then in 2004 i went away with the army and while away i stopped breaking out, i was completely clear you'd of thought with all the stress i would've had major break outs but i guess thats the way it goes, then when i returned home so the spots started to appear again, anyway i got completely clear by doing the following, theres no need to cut out food or anything, heres what i done, washed my face once aday, and applied pan oxyl aqua gel 2.5% once a day, my day went like this,

Morning dont wash face and dont put anything on,(dont waste or mess about with moisturizer)
Evening wash face with cold water and flannel/wash-cloth rub face semi-dry with towel, then with your face still a bit moist, rub 1cm of pan oxyl 2.5% aqua gel, to the four areas of your face, 1cm of cream to your forehead, 1cm to your left cheek (dont put it on your neck) and so on, the trick is not to over do it and not to rub the cream all the way in, so you can still see a bit of visible cream on your face, and thats it,

Pan oxyl will bleach clothes, so while your waiting for it to dry on your face, watch it doesnt come into contact with your best clobber,

you can buy it in any chemist i use to get mine from lloyds or boots, make sure its aqua gel and start off with 2.5% dont think that by applying it will work faster it will take 2 weeks to start working but it will work,

it will work,

Possible a change in the humidity and temperature causing increased sweating and oil production?

I go with that explanation, along with possible increased stress, shift in sleeping patterns, etc.

I bet it goes away on its own in time, as you adjust.

Also, did your diet change at all?

There are two oils that help acne, one is tea tree oil, it is an antiseptic which kills bacteria found on the skin. Another one is Seabuckthorn oil it is supposed to help with skin conditions seabuckthorn can be taken internally or put right on the skin. There is another thing you might consider also. There is such a thing as adult acne. Just because you are past puberty does not mean that your hormones are in sync with your body. Have you been working out more? Different activities can trigger simple things in your body. As it is noticed after you shave, it could be that your skin is just aggravated, which would point to me that your skin is having a hard time once the hairs are cut, and they are trying to poke through the pore, which is causing the aggravation. It could be that your skin has dried a little bit and it needs a little more moisturizing to make the skin more supple so that the hair can poke through. Not sure if any of this makes sense or helps, running on high caffeine this morning, LOL

I had the same problem when I got stationed in San Antonio texas; the humidity was 90% and 95 degrees and I had to shave everyday for the Army; I had major problems. I ended up using an acne wash and had to do my best to not touch my face too much and irritate my skin...it sucked...

Water flushes impurities out of the skin, so yes that will help too.

Drinking the right amount of water for your BMI is always a good idea! (Not that i drink enough)LOL! But it still could be hormone related, since i didn,t get my first pimple till i was well into my 30,s and the doc said it was hormone changes! He said our bodies go through different types of hormone changes all our lives, not just during puberty! But mine seemed to clear up as soon as i started using a facial scrub and rinsing it after washing with baking soda. the salt in the baking soda draws out the toxins that get into the pores. I think if your living in a more polluted area your face could be reacting to the environment too! All you can do is try things till ya find what works for you! Good luck! thumbsup.gif

Ti-tree oil will help with your spots, really well. It doesnt stop you from getting them but it will take out the redness and dry them out which will help heal them quicker.
If you decide to get some get the natural good stuff, it'll cost a bit more but it will definately help. You just pop some on a cotton wool ball and dab the affected areas, don't put it all over as it will dry your skin out. My hubby is 25 and still gets a lot of red spots on his face, it just the humidity and the sweating that really flares it up. Also if you can go swimming in salt water this help aswell.

I have the same problem. Don't try the TV crap (Proactive) it works
to some degree, but if you miss using it once you have started your
face breaks out worse than before.

First aid for pimples: Crush an aspirin tablet and add a little water to make a paste. Cover the pimple with this paste and after a few minutes rinse it off. The pimple will be less red and reduced in size. Aspirin is an astringent.

Never tried it as I only found that a few weeks ago and bookmarked it because it was amusing to me the different uses for aspirin. tongue.gif

Pro-active? Crap? P. Diddy, Jessica Simpson, Kelly Clarkson, Lindsay Lohan and her brother Dorkus all use it...are you saying America's greatest celebrities would endorse a product that didn't work?!
