These are my babies
1. Epiphone Les Paul Limited Edition
2. Epiphone Les Paul Custom SG
3. Epiphone PR5E Accoustic
4. Maton Phil Manning Custom Stereo
I find this gives me a good range of sounds. Especially from the Maton as it is Stereo and the pickups can be individually phased as well

At the moment I have a Silvertone 4-string bass (black). That's it, but I'm thinking about getting a guitar. It's a cheap one ($160 with an amp and picks and strings in Media Play), but it sounds good enough for me, especially since I'm just starting.
I have a 1986 Made in Japan Stratocaster.

I have:
1) An Epiphone Les Paul Junior, great guitar for only $99.99

, but needs the intonation adjusted.
2) A strat knockoff by abilene
3) A Takamine Jasmine acoustic
4) A Washburn Xb-100 bass, natural finish
Amps:
1) Marshall Valvestate VS30R
2) Laney 30 watt bassamp, I'd give more detail on the name, but my cat has choosen the amp as her thrown for the moment and is trying to scratch me as I get close.

As far as Amps go I have a Marshall JCM 900 with a 1960A quad and a Fender Princeton Chorus.
I am using the Fender mainly as I love the warmer cleaner tone that it has.
You got a top looking rig there joc. Nice one mate

any players around Atlanta?
we could put together a jam without too many difficulties...
call it UM...especially when we don't know what the others' playing...
One eye - skip media play - start poking around pawn shops and get yourself down to your local music store - they make good cheap beginner guitars these day and you'll have a knowledgable staff to help you select -
and, they're used to guitar players on a budget - no shame in that.
warning - if you get to know the staff too well - you can kiss your disposable income goodbye for the forseeable future -

Thanks Faulkner, I know where there is one, but it's not local (nothing where I live, I have to travel thirty miles). Actually, I have to drop by one. Jamming with my cousin left my strap a little torn, so I'm going to go pick another up.
Sorry, don't live anywhere near Atlanta...

I have a decent seagull acoustic, takamine acoustic/electric, a fender bass, and a banjo. Couldn't tell ya what series or anything, I am at a library. They all sound well though.
I've had the chance to hear TheOracle's music, it is very mellow, ambient stuff. Hopefully, some day I will get a faster comp and a better music program, then we can do the cyber band thing just as we had talked about some time ago.

Hello everyone, I have a Fender Mexican strat-quite cool, but not a patch on my Gordon Smith, a hand-made British guitar that I picked up about 10 years ago for £350. Worth every penny. I have an Ibanez electro-acoustic and a Fender 12-string acoustic-lovely tone.
I'm a bass player really though, my beauty is a Warwick Corvette [drool]. I whack it through a Hartke rig with a couple of cabs and it makes your trousers flap. I've yet to push her past volume 4, even at gigs.
If you want to check out my band's website it's www.yankeenineniner.com

cheeky plug!
Not sure if the MP3s are up yet. We want to play in the USA if you know any promoters...
[Not sure if I'm allowed to plug so gratuitously here...]
Happy playing everyone!

Did you know that somebody actually bought an air guitar on Ebay? For $5.50. Sorry, I don't know how much that is in pounds.
Here is a pic of my 'new' guitar. It isn't actually new....it belonged to my best friend who passedaway 2 years ago. His brother gave it to me at the funeral. It is a Palmer, which is a cheap strat copy. A beautiful guitar though.
I just had it modified with Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo bridges. It plays better than my Strat now! (which is being modified the same way even as we speak)
Here is a close-up of a Floyd Rose Locking Tremolo system. If you have never experienced the 'Floyd', you don't know what you're missing.
I am the kind of guy that likes to tune my guitar and have it stay in tune...virtually forever! No matter how hard or long I play....you can 'fine-tune' by turning the little knobs on the bottom bridge.
I had the original on my '86 Japanese Strat, and am now in the process of having a new one put on...just like this one:

Oh, and joc, I have tried a Floyd Rose, my friend has one. Those things are so sweet.
