Chinese scientists said on Friday they had found fossils belonging to six baby dinosaurs that died in a volcanic mudflow 125 million years ago.

The fossils, excavated in northeast China's Liaoning province, were unusually well-preserved because they were buried promptly after the eruption.

The dinosaurs, of the type psittacosaurus, easily recognisable because of its parrot-like beak, were aged from one and a half to three years when they died.

The scientific significance of the find is that the six baby dinosaurs belonged to at least two different clutches, suggesting the dinosaur lived in herds much earlier than previously believed.

very interesting................
i wonder.......how baby dinosaurs are found coz they are snall.their bones might be crushed after those long changes that happened millions of years ago and also i wonder how they are finding eggs.
Cronus
how do you die in a vulcanic mud flow and not get your bones all incinerated or whatever lol

They are probably refering to a Lahar, which is water saturated volcanic material, it is quite different than a pyroclastic flow.
