Ghost


Listen to my voice, I want you to hear
To me you will always be so dear
Though you don't see me, I'm very near
Don't be afraid, don't show me fear

For I have journeyed from far away
To be with you, this very day
Oh how I wish you could hear me say
My love for you will never stray

If only I could feel you on my arm
Or hold your hand & feel your palm
To laugh & kiss & share your charm
Or keep you safe from all life's harm

My caress is little more than a breeze
Hope it doesn't make you ill at ease
I see you shiver, I make you freeze
Now I'm beside you on my knees

You'll always mean so much to me
I'll come & visit you to help & see
You through your grief & misery
For I have all of eternity

Our lives can never last forever
But part of us remains together
Though I still try & still endeavour
I can't cheat death, I'm not that clever
